Is anyone else having massive performance issues with this game? I am seriously considering getting a refund. I meet all the recommended requirements and even excel some requirements (such as CPU) and the game runs horrible on my computer. And the thing is even when I turn down all the graphic settings it doesn’t seem to improve by much which makes me think there must be some serious optimisation issues.
The whole game lags like crazy, there is screen tearing, low frame rate, skipping, graphics slowing down and speeding up to catchup. Its really bad.
Anyone else have these issues?
Edit: Playing offline also doesn’t seem to make a difference, and I tried a couple of different servers and still it was the same

I am also experiencing this issue. I purchased my computer 3 months ago, and have also gone through and updated EVERY driver to ensure that I have the most up to date settings, but the game continues to lag. This is the case, whether or not I am playing Online or Offline.
I can play other Blizzard games without issue (i.e. Diablo III & WoW) but my computer can’t seem to process D2R’s gameplay.
Can anyone at Blizzard or online advise on how I might get this issue corrected?

Dunno what to tell you man… I have a $1200 build from like 4-5 years ago and it runs fine on max settings at 1080p for me.
i7 8700k
32 gigs of 2666 ddr4 ram
gtx 1070
240gig boot drive, 2tb mechanical storage, 1 tb ssd storage
pretty low end gaming box.
My guess is you are trying to run 4k 144htz, or the PC is just crap.

I run the game on a Ryzen 3900X + 1080Ti at home… If I set the framerate at 1080@120fps, the GPU usage goes up to ~80% in grassy areas. If I reduce the FPS down to 60 in grassy areas, the GPU usage drops to almost nothing.
I run the game at 60hz, still looks fine and plays smooth. Definitely a lot better than the chunky 25 fps of the original game.
I have a 1070 at work, roughly the same CPU/RAM setup as my home system. 1600x1200@60fps, the GPU usage in grassy areas is almost nothing. Runs smooth.
Something about bumping the FPS much above 60 just hammers the GPU in grassy areas.
you guys need to post PC specs of your computer.A lot of pre-builts have decent specs then skimp out on the GPU.If you want a in depth answer post your computers specs and it helps with any advice. It doesnt matter if you bought your computer 1 month ago.If you get some Ryzen 5300G system 8 core cpu with ssds and everything and paid like 800 dollars for it this game is going to run crappy if your trying to max the game in 1080p.The 8 core ryzen processors with Vega graphics can barely manage to play cyberpunk in 720p low at 30 fps, drops into the 20’s.Some pre-builts still come with GT 710’s which is disgraceful.I dont have a high end system and Im only using an RX 480 and it plays this game just fine in 1080p with everything on high 60 fps+

It’s the game that is quite obviously poorly optimised. Ive seen people with ultra high end PC’s post that they get 10-20 fps all over the place. Seen People with Medium and High end PC’s post the exact same issues.
Also, it seemed better before last patch from what I can tell.
This is up to Blizzard to figure out. And they will no doubt, but when
Edit: I have the same situation, so here’s what I have done so far to relieve some of the games problems:
Uninstall all programs that use overlays and Streaming services. Xbox game panel/twitch so on. (nearly doubled the Fps)
Removed Geforce Experience Panel(helps a little)
Done a Disk Driver Uninstall and reinstall newest graphic drivers. (Helps a bit, and makes game run a lot more stable overall, also on little bit on the fps meter.)
Disabled the Integrated Graphics to only use primary Gpu(Gave me over 5fps increase overall permanently)
Set Scaling to 50 in the game menu, the very lowest(helps quite a bit on the fps overall)
Run in Windowed Mode Maximised(Helps Tremendously)
Turn on Dynamic Resolution Scaling(seems to help a little)

try set d2r.exe to run as administrator, and launch battlenet as administrator too
Does not make much sense to make a post about game performance without listing system specs. Just being purchased a couple months ago means absolutely nothing. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but these manufactures commonly cheap out on things. Could be a cheap gpu, could be substandard cooling, could be a cheap cpu. Hard to say.
What I can say is the game runs well on my system. Granted, it is a high end build, but I am able to max out everything on 1440 and still get 70 or so fps.
damn i legit have the recomended specs for the game… i think they specs are with everything not overclocked… cuz if i oc my 1060 and push the 9600k to 4.4-4.5… i was running 2.5k on low at 70 hz… which i feel is good since they say 1080p 60fps for my specs but i was playing solo so yeah
it surely is not my computer, D2R was running just fine since launch for me. Now over last couple days been sluggish, screen tearing, low frame rate, skipping, graphics slowing down and speeding up to catchup. what is going on? i have not changed anything on my computer to cause this
my pc has been doing the same thing right… well yesterday my 2x8 3200mhz ram came in and let me tell you… there was 100% something wrong with my other ram… sure it didnt have the same speed but all stutter screen tearing frame rate bouncing all over even when capped has been gone… its like a whole new game… i swear check ur ram somehow idk if theres a test u can run or what
don’t have issues with other games. so doubt it is my ram
true good point… ive seen a lot of people saying to turn down the environmental settings, cap fps, lower reso scale… a lot of people saying these have been causing high temps and also performance problems… something about the grass just in the game causing a huge performance issue… but again u did say u didnt change anything and it was fine but u never know mess with it and see what happens… my ram was pretty ancient so thats why it was a problem for me
for sure dropping the graphics made no change. it is still doing the same crap

Its the graphics card. Its poorly optimised on mid-range graphics card. Even the card listed in the recommended specs which is what I have. It runs terribly. I tried the game on another laptop which had a higher end graphics card (a 2060 or 2080 or something if I remember correctly) and it runs fine. But still it means I can’t play it on my own computer without it lagging.
What did the other computer have?
My 1065 and others with 1070s and 1080s have been reporting no issues (I’m sure others do). Also, at least early on, a lot of issues being reported were from 3080 and 3090 users.
I dont have it in front of me now, but the main difference was the graphics card… it even had less RAM than I had on my other computer.
Every single issue you described i have witnessed, though, not to the degree that i would say its constant, in fact, seldomly, but yes, noticed.
Then i realized this post is from 25 days ago. That could explain why i rarely see this stuff anymore. Maybe others still do.
you sound like a real ashole…i have a 3080 ti and i can say this game is very poorly optimized
