They could make it so the splash can only effect x number of enemies. 3 would be enough. Ill compromise.
Oh hell yeah, delete teleport and add machine guns. I think with just a few more tweaks we can turn it into Diablo 3: 2. Thats what the real Diablo 2 fans wanted when they payed for the game.
One hoped for 1.09, what we are heading towards is Diablo 3.25

Path of Diablo and Project Diablo 2 successfully solved the underwhelming melee conundrum by adding Melee Splash Jewels. The game needs positive change to evolve for the better.

WHY If i swing a big sword or slash with my wolf claws in a frontal arc do i only hit 1 enemy despite 3 or 5 being in its direct path.
This game is a classic masterpiece, in a few more patches to solve the equilibrium among build diversity, they can set it as the gold standard benchmark for hack slash and loot Action Role Playing Games that can last another 50 years.

Here’s an analogy, chess is a grand masterpiece of a game. But before it became a grand masterpiece, it was a classic, but before it became a classic it had to evolve over many centuries of time before the rules became more set in stone. With computers the evolution is accelerated, we won’t need centuries to perfect D2, just give it a few decades.
Besides, the Intellectual Property, patent copyrights eventually all expire. Open Source collaboration might be in all our future.
I think Melee would be fine if their attacks didn’t have to go through a To Hit check that is overly penalizing. I started a Barb back when D2R was released and I was amazed at how many levels and how much AP you needed to reliably hit things in Hell.
Right now he’s level 86, has pretty decent AP multipliers & gear, yet still has a 30% chance to miss some random Act 4 mob with Whirlwind. =/
Now I look at my undergeared Trapsin that annihilates everything in Hell while being 10 levels lower, partly because her abilities never miss… yeah, I think the To Hit formula could be teaked a bit.
Likely true. So better to have fun in the here and now. Its just a 3-6 month looped loot sim game anyways. Nothing difficult in the game really.
Sign in, kill some stuff, maybe get a good drop or two, kill some stuff. Repeat next day or another time. Don’t be so serious.
Or sign in, walk a new char through all zones with some strangers hopefully, have fun, help newbies out.
I personally want the game to be much more difficult and require tactical thought. It’s never going to be that so just gimme my damn splash so i can smack a few more enemies while i listen to the classic music.
The zoom in feature is the best feature ever added. Just thought id put that out there.
Use gear that increases your attack rating or get Ignore Target Defense. Try the Frenzy Barb on PTR, I think you will be impressed.
Never really had these problems. Never cared for whirlwind either reallly. I pump as much ar as i need with whats already in game.
Get blessed aim merc if ya need.
