The title of Patriarch and Matriarch was such an honor when I played single player. It felt like an accomplishment. It meant I completed the game. I did all necessary quests, and killed all necessary bosses using legit problem solving and strategy.
It has always been this way, but in the online experience, people get patriarch and matriarch basically for free. So many blizzard sorcs are unable to complete the game by themselves. They are unworthy of the title matriarch.
I think patriarch and matriarch should be reserved for people who beat baal by themselves.
