Hey guys, just wondered a bit about the removal of damage-scaling with the Offense-Auras of the recent patch. I thought it was such a cool mechanic! But here my thoughts:
Holy Fire (fire is hot and hurt more when sbd. comes close → perfect mechanic for it!)
- Remove the increasing range per level and set it to a fix value (like 10 yards)
- set the burn damage of the Aura next to the character (0 - 2 yards) to 180%
2 - 4 yards 160%, 4- 6 yards 140%, 6 - 8 yards 120%, 8 - 10 yards 100%
Note: Holy Fire damage of Aura fully skilled with all synergies
100% (214-290 Fire Damage)
180% (385-522 Fire Damage)

That’s cool. I have a different approach.
How about they don’t decrease the radus, but make dmg far less close to the edge of the aura? It would be a 3 step dmg scaleing. 50% at the edge, then 100% about halfway to the caster, then only 150% closest to the caster. What you think?

Yeah i would go also with that idea. The only reason i made these proposals is to make it for the devs easier to implement it and give them initally a better feeling for it.
Because i´m not sure how hard/easy your 3 damage areas are to scale with the game with changing ranges.
In the end our suggestions hit the same spot, just the approach is different
