Then don’t play hc. HC doesn’t encourage playing with strangers in public. Hot tps and pk are common in pubs. That’s why everybody plays in private groups
I only play HC and really enjoy playong with others despite occasional PK or hot tp. I cant go back to SC.
Private baalruns are fine and efficient - but boring af. And 2 months into ladder - most are done playing.
I’m a professional running 2 companies and limited time. So pubs work best when I can just jump into a game.
I dont agree with the argument of /X as disincentivizing multipler - when there are so few games. Nor the argumebt to “stop playing then” as being a valid solution.

The /players command is a demonstrably better solution than hijacking other players games to get the same effect. Just jump into baal runs and do lower kurast or wherever you want!
For me the ladder is solely about being able to trade. I spent years in D2 public games dealing with bots and pickits, it’s a failed system. You either got pickits of your own or farmed solo. I have no idea what the state of D2R pickits are, but I have to assume they exist.
Anyway, if I do decide to try the ladder this time I won’t be in the same area with other players unless it’s for XP. Even POE caved, years ago, and let game creators set the loot rules.

Only loot rules u can set in poe is how loot is allocated.
Now if ur running a private league then yes u have more options. On official servers u only have what i said above.

I sort of get your point, but there are plenty of places to farm in a split MF game and this just creates more of them. You’re just going to have to actually work with a team to organize it and make it fair. Rotating positions or whatever. I actually do agree with P8 not being online no matter how much I would like to have it myself. It would kill almost all pub games.
Running cows is very boring or maybe im just bored with the game in general.
I think everyone has their preference for runs. I was running trav hork the other day and I thought wow this is kind of boring, but arguably it would be the best results for P1 MF. Meanwhile I can run chaos all day no issue.

I really couldn’t care less. And yes maybe i’m an biased old grumpy antisocial f@#& that don’t want to waste half of his little gaming time with group search, but still on a neutral point theres a difference between multiplayer that you actively seek for (Trading, rushing, questing, friends) and multiplayer the system indirectly forces you to through efficency (XP runs, Split MF runs,…)
This has to be hands down one of the most toxic communities in all of the gaming. Give us the /players command, the rest of you can simply f* off and just not use it. I’m too old to have a reliable group of friends to play with and I refuse to deal with random pugs, my time is too valuable. But seeing that the 10 monoliths here are deafeningly vocal about not wanting /players command, I solved my dilemma by simply not playing the game anymore. I guess you prefer players to quit, rather than go on with the times. How many players are playing the Legacy D2 again on battle.net? Like 7 including their 4 alt accounts?

Voila! That’s the way to go if you refuse to adapt and play the game as it was designed.
Of course you could always play singleplayer where you can use the /p8 cheat…but of course you want the best from both worlds.
It just resumes to entitlement. Awww…the levels of entitlement are of the charts with you guys.

That’s a built-in mechanic of the game isn’t it? It’s been a while (the game defaults to it) but I thought it was in the drop down options!
For single player in order to emulate an online game.
It’s implementation in multiplayer would be a cheat.
Wanting efficient solo play while joining an friends game every now and then + some trading, HOW DARE WE!
This was possible in open bnet, but there is no open bnet in resurrected!

Again…you want the best of the two worlds. You can’t and shouldn’t have it. Pick one…using /players8 in singleplayer without trading or play online with trading and struggle to be fast and search for split mf groups in order to take the advantage of the decreased nodrop change that comes with playing in a group.
That’s just like, your opinion, man.
