it seems like hours and hours of my grind to 99 is wasted by people who want to fight and or be mentally abusive. sure i can block them but it doesnt stop them from rejoining. Also making a game with a password causes my lobbies to disolve… can we get an option to block people from joining games we create or just be able to kick them/ban them from our games their is a huge toxic element on this game and it ruins it for generally hard working players
toxicity is toxicity. you can’t just get rid of it. getting an option to block people from joining games means someone can block you from joining the game and then start sniping the game name from you, preventing you from joining cuz they made the next game instead of you. same thing goes for kick/ban or votekick/voteban from the game. u only shift the toxicity into a different methodology.
Add people that are fun to play the game with to your friends list.
Make password protected games and whisper-message them (can make groups as well) them and/or send game invite.
Best bet just join discord/d2jsp communities and group play in private games with them…otherwise gear up your character and kick a$$, it should be 2-7 v 1…
If the Bnet 2.0 integration in D2R wasn’t garbage then this wouldn’t be as big of an issue, in original D2 you could block someone from seeing what you type and then you could just share a game name/password with the rest of your group, but this functionality doesn’t exist in D2R so you can’t.
Even if the function were still there the chat bug would still pose an issue because some or perhaps even none of the other people could see your message.
i feel like pressuring people to be around me is not a good resolution to me just wanting to be productive…i have schizophrenia and i work and are awake early in the morning… I dont want to be forced to interact with people just to gain xp that reflects my diligence in leveling in the game
you do you man.
playing in public games means loot will be grabbed up faster than you can see it, and, griefers are going to grief.
just because I receive and invite from a friend doesn’t mean “I must then play with them”.
there is no pressure, I just whisper back, “cruising solo” if that is what i want to do.
i have yet to have anyone take issue with that.
now, if they ask for help to retrieve their body, then, that’s what friends do. I have never refused that request, and have never been refused help in the same situation.
you have schizophrenia, and you work… good for you man. stay strong. tip of the hat to you.
You might want to get professional help then sue whoever broke your mental fortitude and emotions.
Or, uninstall the game, go outside, plant a garden, chop wood and carry water.
Block someone and neither he can join your games or you join his
Thats how it should work
If you’re having an issue with people ruining your game, chances are that you’re the issue and not them. I’ve played on and off for years and this was never a big enough issue to even give it a second thought.
That would require additional server resources to process that information, not to mention someone actually lifting a finger to program that feature… They must fit the entirety of D2:R’s server demands on what amounts to an Intel Atom processor.
Sooner or later, it will be back to Raymond the Janitor running the servers… Occasionally resetting the servers with the backstroke of his mop handle while he’s in the server room on his rounds.

I dont know
They managed to pull off that nhd change which i imagine was basically coding
A feature like this doesnt sound that resourceful
This game is full of them (you guys)
I tried to get into the game, new player, asked a simple question, no one answered, tried asking questions multiple times during my playtime, game chat and in lobby, no one EVER response, I left a comment in the chat about the community, then someone responded with my question being stupid… yep… I guess its for reason that the majority sees you as a bunch of anti-social boomers that will refuse to modernize with the gaming industry.
in diablo 3… the exact opposite, people are communicating, helpfull, always answering, chatting, offering help nonstop… you can tell which group of players is more “healthy”
Most of the probs are with “integration”/“inclusivity” … trying to force realms together and expect free-flowing communications. Sorry but most “sqigs” [peeps with squiggly line names] don’t tyalk, and can’t even understand you at all … thanx again blizz for another wonderful experience! Well done devs, yet again!
Noone broke my fortitude but if someone has a drop down kick the ground tantrum in my game they shouldnt be able to follow me as i remake 200 games just achieve a normal level of xp by hosting a public game. Gotta look at it logically and dont just compulsively assume my post is emotional as and excuse for you why you cant handle marginalizing people that over react online
Password. Level requirement. Change the host name and tell everyone in your game that it is going to be different in the next game except the other user.
PvP is a part of the game.
Also if this is such an issue for you in game, perhaps you’re the problem? I’m not saying I’ve never been hostiled in a baal run or had someone attempt to tppk me, but it was very rare back in LOD and even now in D2r.
Its not just pking, generally its someone who is too anal about degrading people and they upset themselves they cant make someone degraded. Then they have a tantrum
In truth, I feel, that once someone is placed on your ignore list, they should be blocked from joining any game that you create automatically.
I mean, you can already limit what levels can join your games to an extent, why not add this feature in the future.
It would be a great behaviour modifier … once they realize they can’t join many games, they may change their ways. Maybe.
I would suggest, however, that it not be by character name, but by battle tag. That would prevent them from continuing with said behaviour with another character on the same account.
Can’t really do much about alt-accounts, much like here on the forums.
I don’t see how hard this would be to implement, if you “block” someone they shouldn’t be able to join games that you make… seems reasonable and Extremely easy to implement… that being said there’s at least 10 other things that would be just as easy to add and yet here we have season 5… am I right?
