Online to Offline Character on Xbox

Hello all,

My subscription to Game Pass Ultimate just expired and I’m not renewing, and it seems I can not longer play my Online character.

When I made the character, it specifically stated that you couldn’t convert and Offline character to Online, but said nothing re: Online to Offline so I went that route, but I don’t see an option to convert.

Am I assuming there is not an option to convert an Online character to Offline? If not and I have to restart it’s not the end of the world, but would be nice if I could.

Also, is there a way to have the game’s menu default to your Offline characters as opposed to Online?

Online characters are stored server side, so you have to be able to log on to access them, and they’ve never offered the option to download your online character.

Ah, thank you. So I’ll need to start over with an offline character then.

Offline is the more enjoyable experience for consoles anyway, in my personal opinion.

Welcome to the club!

I agree :100: I’ve actually been thoroughly enjoying my offline chars and their progress. Less problems, access to all rune words including the new ones, heck I’ve even found far better things offline than I have online. Unless you absolutely need to play with other people for whatever reason it might be, you will enjoy offline play far more.

I hear there’s more bugs offline though, watch out!

Such as? I’m struggling to think of any bugs in the game that are in offline but not in online.

Thank you kindly for the feedback everyone.

I actually always play Single Player; even with the original release I preferred playing solo.

So outside of:

  • Lack of map randomization each time you load your character
  • Lack of cross-progression
  • Lack of Multiplayer

What are the differences between Offline and Online?

There’s p8.

Sorry, what do you mean by “p8?”

Player 8.

Player/slider fixes the multiplayer thing unless one needs to play with others, and the lack of random maps is remedied by switching difficulty. It would be nice if there was an option to choose a new map selection without having to go to nightmare and back to hell, but that seems like another can of worms. Next thing you know people will be upset that they have to choose each time they start a game. Offline is the way to go. The frustration of finding what I need and succeeding through trade was never worth my time or effort so I just look for what I need and take my time finding everything else in between.
