With SSF finally coming to Diablo 3, I’m really hopeful we’ll get SSF in D2R too.
Using GoMule has been very tedious lately, especially when Blizz modify the structure of the save files that require manually migrating all your items to the new save file format.
I don’t know about “lately”, last patch that actually broke GoMule was 2.5 I think and it seems less and less likely that it’ll break each patch given that patches are getting smaller and less likely to change the save format. It’s annoying when it does happen though.
Pls. We still want this.
All 4 of you are going to have to settle for SSF in single player. You don’t need some fake ladder to boost your dopamine.

I would love this, and I don’t care for a leaderboard. Just the ability to play this mode, use /players 8, and not be able to trade for added difficulty.
I tried to do this in single player, I was making good progress, was close to an enigma, my power flickered, and I lost all my gear on my character and everything in the personal stash.
I don’t want to use a 3rd party program to get my items and runes back. Doing this online would be much better and create some excitement around this amazing classic game.
Your power flickered so you lost your character save and you didn’t try to recover that character’s file through any normal means that would be easily achievable? Smells like BS.
And not gonna lie even if that fake scenario ever happened, you should just make your character again. There isn’t some sort of devious 3rd party program that you even have to use.
Yes, it’s a known bug, I researched it online, and they said it’s been around since the early D2 days. I read that there is no fix or way to restore it aside from using a 3rd party program to generate whatever gear and items you want which is something I don’t want to do. Just google “Power outage, lost character” and you’ll see others experience the same thing.
Might be the truth. Regardless use the 3rd party program. It isn’t against the rules since it is offline play. Just like how a mod in offline play isn’t, but for online certainly could be.
I almost did, but forgot every single rune and item I had, and at that point it feels like cheating if I give myself more than what I found. I know it’s not against ToS, not worried about that. I might give SP another try at some point in the future, maybe after Last Epoch or before PoE2, but would be cool if Blizzard just implemented SSF & /players 8 online for all those who want it. Not sure why people care how others want to play the game. For those who want to trade, that will still be there.
Then give yourself less? And the 7 people who have had character issues on SP probably aren’t a justification for making a SSF mode. And the 7 people who would actually use it also aren’t a justification for doing it either. I personally don’t care if one exists, I just fully understand why one will never be made.
The main reason there’s very little support for this game to implement any major changes is that it doesn’t generate much revenue at this point. Although this remastered version is pretty recent, I can understand why many expected a little more than this.
Maybe Microsoft will change some of that. Even Phil hinted about getting back into the RTS genre. Yes, RTS isn’t as profitable, but it’s still profitable and still something that many want to play. Where as Bobby’s philosophy was to not waste any resources on anything that doesn’t maximize profits.
Give us a SSF mode in Season 6. How hard can that be FFS?
The current season shows impressively how much an SSF mode is needed for us normal players and how much this optional mode would enrich d2r.
But it looks like we won’t get any more adjustments, at least mosaic should nerfed again.

Already exists. Play solo … better yet, you wanna play solo play SP.
Just because you want SSF online so you can then try to get ?players x online, so you can then manipulate the know 7 player glitch?

We want an online SSF mode because of the many advantages that have already been mentioned here a hundred times. No, SP is not the same. No, we don’t want to exploit any glitches or whatever.
So then just don’t trade, you have the option already. Implementing SSFL is useless. The same people will be on top of rankings and you split the small playerbase even more.
