Since people just dont shut up about /players X command online, I would like to made proposition. But fist we need to speak about few things. I think it is basic requirement that command doesnt boost botters in any way. People who want that command also like to talk that they want challenge , thats its not mainly about benefits. Ok then.
When you create new character, you have option to pick /players X setting you will play with. But forever. No, you will not abuse the command to get benefits of XP and loot on P3 or idk p7 and then kill bosses or ancients or ubers on p1. When you set your character at creation to /players 7/8 for example, its forever. You cant change it back. Yes, if you want to get torch, you will need to kill ubers on /players 7/8.
But to not be too harsh, you can join other players who have character created on same setting. In that way 2 players who picked /players 7/8 on character creation can still play together on /players 7/8. You cant play with anyone else tho.
All items you found on characters created with /players X command are account bound. Items you found on /players 7/8 can be shared between your other characters with that same setting. Items found in games with other people are bound to both or more players so you can trade them between each other, but only until you leave the game.
When season ends, you have option to decide if you continue with same rules there or you remove the tag for /players X setting. If you do remove it, stuff you have is no longer bound to certain /players setting and is also no longer account bound so you can do what ever you like with it. But obviously you no longer can use /command X on those characters.
This way /players X command doesnt have to be exclusive just for solo play as you can play with others. You can still have some limited trade. And most importantly implementation doesnt not impact players outside of it in any way. And botters cant abuse it in any way I think.
is this satire? Because those are insane ideas Zax, and im Not feeling bad about choosing not to say it gently because you acted like a goon in the other thread. You tried to shut down the discussion over āall you want is free easy loot!ā And now here you are trying to discuss this?
Where did I say its not abused lol? I am saying that with command X you can abuse it far more.
People like you will never be happy. Its funny how in two statements you express how you dont like ninja looters and that you dont want bound items. So which is it then? You cant have everything. If they ever add /command X it will have certain rules so people like you dont abuse it.
I am not saying its needed. I just presented suggestion which might be tolerable by majority of community for those who wants /players X and dont like to play with general public but still would like to play with idk family member.
How many times i have to say this⦠there is no possibility of implementing /players. It will not happen, it will never happen, it is impossible that it happens. Get your head out of the sand, you are being silly to be nice
Depends, with good enough rules it can happen. I am not saying my idea is perfect, it might have holes, but if there is demand for that from certain % of players base, if implementation is not too complicated and if it wont affect people outside of it, you never know. I would say never after they implemented it to D3. Sure D3 doesnt have offline mode so there is makes sense, but stillā¦
Only issue I see with this is splitting player base into more game modes.
The majority isnāt necessarily right. Itās biased, entitled, and not always capable of understanding whatās good for the game. If the game were balanced around the majority, it wouldāve been buried already.
None of these ārulesā would be reasonable, nor feasible to implement.
If you want the game to have account-bound gear, thatās great. I think that is a good, and is a reasonable bundle which could be jointly implemented w/ both the game adding the DIII style personal loot system and additionally allowing for the /players# command to set the game difficulty in the same way offline mode allows.
Youāre creating a straw man so you donāt have to actually admit that there are some reasonable arguments for players online
The game would benefit from a few more gears to difficulty and reward. Most builds can get to the point where p1 is trivial, so p3 is a fair way for everyone to progress a little more, without everything becoming diluted
I donāt like the idea of a character being locked into that mode forever, but when Iāve been able to talk about it rationally without it turning into a flame war, I have always advocated for it to actually be set on game creation, not the command line. Although for a SSF mode, if they ever introduced it, being locked into /P8 mode all the time would be pretty cool.
Iāve never thought of the BoA approach, but actually Iād be totally fine with that. Anything rarer than a Rare might be a good cutoff though, you wouldnāt want BoA potions and crap lol.
It would be reasonable to believe that the account-bound would only apply to Uniques, Rares, Set items, Blue (magic) items+charms, Elite Runeword base skins, and Runes : once/if a switch is applied that allows for the trifecta of online retail realm /players# command, DIII style personal loot and applying the same Bound to Account rules that DIII utilizes.
There is only one single reasonable argument. Not enough players. Its not case for season. So actualy that argument would probably work only for non ladder.
