Oh yeah, more monster nerfs

Fixed an issue where monster unique mods were triggering from another unique mod’s trigger. For example, monsters that were both lightning and fire enchanted created an explosion every time they were put into hit recovery (Ex: repeatedly hit by Warcry).

You just can’t stop can you. Anything dangerous must be removed so we can all play patticake.

Boo boo keys :key:.

Oh, mah favorite!

I also dislike nerfs to monsters like that.
I for example liked the Nithlatak Snakes. The danger brings more fun and adrenaline.
I think it worked quite fine, you should not move in those clouds and counter it with some flat DR.
Maybe if they just removed the damage being amplified by Auras and Amplify curse.

There left are only dolls and souls. Dolls being bit stupid cos you could not counter it as melee character. Ranged casters can blast them from afar.

I’m a bit of two minds about this. Generally speaking, I love the idea of occasionally running into enemies you can’t deal with. But being able to do fast repeated runs to grind for loot is such a deeply ingrained aspect of the game, such enemies become more of an annoyance instead of being an interesting part of the gameplay.

Brings to mind a game I’ve recently dabbled with, called Stoneshard. Each and every encounter is tense and you could easily die facing just 2 enemies at once. There’s so many situations where you have to run away or risk losing a lot of progress. I absolutely love how hardcore the game is.

I mean every encounter to be tense or funny is impossible. This game is basically a slot machine. You click click click and spent time till some item you get dopamine from drops. That is now. I can imagine upon release it was about beating the game, not farming over and over. But release is just a one-time event.

To cant deal with monster is not funny. There should be a way to deal with it: be it hard, be it time consuming.

Exactly why I brought up Stoneshard, a polar opposite of Diablo 2, when it comes to dealing with difficult enemies. Facing difficult enemies in Diablo 2 is like having the slot machine jam from time to time.

It would be fine if grinding wasn’t such a big part of D2.

Exactly heh.

What I liked on Diablo 2 as a teenager was that I could invent new builds to beat the game. Then when I figured all out there is not much else to do within the game. And since nostalgia + dopamine is a strong thing, grinding the game that charmed me is all what is left haha. Thats the sad truth.

Then I hope they will change skills, weapons and stuff, so I can experiment once again and spark the interest.

I want all my cookies for free, and I want you to feed them to me because I can’t be bothered to lift them from the cookie jar.

You gave how you do it, and then you want them nerfed anyway?

Not exactly true. Assassin claw block works on an amazing amount of things.
Plus you don’t have to be the one to kill the Amped, dual enchanted doll.

And yet we did this years on end.

There is. Every single time. It’s not my fault you refuse to use the tools available.

I wanna be able to sleep while I get my Shako.

Barb has no claw block. If not you, then merc would kill the doll, which basically transfers to my first sentence - you cant deal with it as melee. barb.

I was talking about pre-nerfed Vipers, that coupled with Might aura and Amp dmg would insta-kill you. And now Vipers are not dangeruos at all. That poison clouds deals no dmg. I would rather have it deal physical dmg like before, but cant be amplified by aura and curse. A compromise of dangerous and not-insta killed.

So something that follows you around, and can absorb infinite splash damage without being affected doesn’t allow you to deal with dolls…

I know you were.
I walked Halls all the gd time, with basically every character I had. This is player error.

Again… I meant you cant deal with it, as your character. Not your merc.
But whatever… ranged dmg dealers can deal with them. Its just that melee wont. Who cares for melee… outside of me. Noone. And it shows on D2R changes.

3 of my highest 4 characters are melee.

Rare breed. In a good sense. I think in polls most players play sorcs.

This is good fix as this in rare occasions could cause instant death of characters with even 6k life.

Imagine that. Even 6k life characters couldn’t totally fall asleeep on the keyboard. Good change.

I’ve played a bit, and melee is basically wtf broken already. I have a 91 fury mutt that didn’t even potion over a 4 hour play period.
The character isn’t even finished gearing to really end game stuff. (crafted CB gloves, dual leech rings with high res and life, crafted amulet, etc)
This includes terrorized zones like wsk. I don’t tele. I don’t pass things up. I kill it on my way. This includes phys immune harpies, and ghost class monsters.

Ya. Teleport is a very alluring skill. Sorc’s aren’t the end all be all in my opinion though. Other builds will outperform most of them at the high end if done right.

Do you understand that once bugs are fixed they can better look into actually tuning the monsters in a way that makes sense? Relying on bugs for game difficulty is a real dumb way of creating difficulty.

what weapon you using on that fury mutt

They haven’t made a single concession to removing these at all. Not a single one. So you are trying to say they can do it, but simply put, they haven’t. Nor will they. And you know that (or should) as well as I do. (Hint they have had well over 10 years since they removed IM, and what have they done in return…nothing…)

Repear’s Toll. I used it looonnngggg before this last patch where others started to consider it. Now it’s just a cakewalk once you have it.
