Oft Forgotten Items

Let’s talk about some oft Forgotten Items which are better than many players think or realize. While none of the items listed in this thread should be used for your GG endgame setup, they still have good use and purpose in many cases. Here are a few of mine, please feel free to chime in with your own, and why they’re better than people think or give credit for.

So we have to start with the dreaded Nokozan Relic. While most experienced players hate finding this amulet (especially from Hell difficulty), it’s really a pretty great amulet, relatively. It gives 20FHR, 10 to max fire resist, and a huge 50 fire resist, along with a bit of light radius and fire damage. Obviously there are many better options down the line, but with only a level 10 requirement, this useful little amulet can easily be equipped well into Hell.

Next item I want to give props to is the second most dreaded unique amulet, the beloved Mahim-Oak Curio. As we all know, this amulet does a little bit of everything, a jack of all trades. 10% bonus attack rating, 10% enhanced defense, 10 to all attributes, and 10 to all resist, makes this a nice amulet to fill in some gaps for your character until you can use something better.

A more niche item I don’t think gets enough love is Crainte Vomir (Fear Vomit). It has a whole host of great mods, like 20% FRW, 50% IAS, 200% Enhanced Damage, Slows target by 35%, -70 monster defense per hit, and 10% damage reduction. Upgrade it to a legend sword and socket it with an Amn or Shael, and you have quite a monstrous weapon which does so much. Let alone if you equip two on a frenzy or double swing Barb…and the weapon model/color on it looks incredible, especially in D2R.

Yeah I totally agree on Nokozan relic. Nice amulet to help your new character with low requirements.
I would like to mention Cathan rings with their Life steal for melee builds. There is also a lot of early game uniques and set items that are underrated. Like Iratha set or Isenhart set. These two babies are nice to have on melee characters. I ran my early barbarian with Cathan rings, Nokozan relic, full Iratha and partial Berserker set (excluded helm for Iratha one).
On other hand. I would like to forget some items. Especially the early uniques that have Knockback and Hit cause moster flee. I don’t see much benefit from these except for maybe ranged Amazon.

Useful for any class, only needs Lv3 and 30 STR, defense increases as you level, FRW, thorns, LIT resist, what’s not to like? Best low set in the game IMO.

gloom armor comes to mind (i think its underused and underrated)

the blinds are so good, even in hell . saved my skin a lot of times while im sporting it waiting for enigma
ez runes, 1200+def on duskshroud, sick utility/survival tool, fhr,allres,str.

great item.
