I had a level 81 sorceress offline/single player. However, when i went to play her today, she’s not showing up in my characters list. I went to check the saved games and the save files are still there. I made a copy of the files went on a hex editor online to have a look at the file copies, and it looks like the “.d2s” file for the character has been messed up in some way: it’s 3.08KB, but its just full of 0s, there is nothing but 0s in the files, which isn’t the case for my other characters. Not sure what happened, I simply logged off and tried playing today and it had disappeared… I’m not very hopeful, but is someone able to help me?

Same thing is happening to me. I lost two characters and am not getting a response from tech support. Very frustrating. I wonder if I’ll even be able to get them to give my money back.

thank you! I’ve started backing up the saved files before every game in case it gets wiped again, I can just import it back (minus the latest game).
same thing happened to me. I had a power outage mid game and my character has been stuck in for days. Meanwhile, whenever I try to play another character I get “failed to join game.”

I can’t find it now, but there might be an issue with the stash file, I’ve read about it on other topics, but since it hasn’t happened to me, I didn’t experiment with that. Try reading through this thread, there are mentions of workarounds you may want to try.
