I play exclusively online, strictly under Blizzard and bnet rules for gameplay. Yet I’m stuck playing without the option to scale difficulty online. So it’s true. Honestly never pays.
I don’t even care about the extra loot chances of players 8, though I would certainly welcome it on bnet if it ever became an option. I just want the more difficult mobs of players 8 because my gear has made me so strong that players 1 bores me at this point. I’d happily keep the same loot chances and up the difficulty just to have some more fun when playing with harder mobs.

unfortunately the only option for that solo is to buy more copies and run virtual machines… i can run 4 copies without breaking any rules 
if i upgraded my ram i could run a few more, but i don’t think i want to spend anymore money.
And because Blizz gave offline the ability to scale difficulty in a way that mimics the effect of having multiple players, as online is intended to have, it’s cheating if we use that option?

Ya im doing the same, going to try 3 but current ram is only 16, 3 might need 32? How much ram do you have for 4 copies?
Offline, just use char editor. Lol. There’s no honor in playing without any rules.

How is offline player8 a cheaters haven when they can’t do anything monetary with their loot?
This is like proclaiming that you saw your neighbor cheat on his diet with a pizza. How does this affect you? How does this affect the economy? Your neighbor isn’t moving black market merchandise.

I also coudn’t care less what people do offline, may they be using third party programs to edit a character or 10x their loot chances or run 7 virtual machines, as long as it stays offline and only affect their gameplay… My personal fun is to create a character from scratch and to grow it to kill hell Baal solo, which is why I’m starting hardcore.
What I find weird tho are people asking /p8 option to up the difficulty of the game, when they could try to either:
-harecore
-live off the land
-shop only run
-gamble only run
-go off the hammerdin/javazon/sorc meta and try a non-optimal build
-a mix of 2 or more of these

Just want to say you don’t have to use the best gear that makes Players 1 so trivial. Been talking about this guy a lot lately but I just completed making an solo self found “OnlyRares” Barb, which you guessed it, is only allowed to use Rare items in his equipment slots. Of course, you can do this with any of the classes, I just went with Barb because I wanted to and had found a few nice rare items he could use. He’s still completely viable in Hell Players 1, but he doesn’t steamroll over it or anything, it’s a nice healthy challenge, I think. I think an “OnlyUniques” character would be fun to make as well. Just something to consider
Why worry about the ones that cheat offline. That is their game and it in no way impacts you even if you play offline as well it is not like you will see them cheating. Unless they are a dumb streamer that is botting offline and you notice it because he/she goes for a bio break and the character is still doing something which would prove botting.
to be fair you may as well play offline considering the only games that show up are 5 hours old

I’ve actually been planning to try characters like this for fun since I can’t turn up the difficulty on bnet and have been growing bored. My main is a dual dream zealot and he is so op that it has made p1 feel like normal difficulty as a max level character. For me, the best part of the game was the hunt/chase/trading to get my gear, but once I got to the end I was so powerful I was like I miss when things weren’t as easy. This is all I want p8 for. But this type of challenge really does interest me.

there wont be players 8 online because it’s a stupid idea and it would be a chest vegas lower kurast solo simulator, deal with it :,)
No problem. Players have quit because of the lack of innovation and difficulty scaling. Enjoy playing by yourself.
Whats even more interesting is that single player doesn’t need /players8. They can literally hero/character edit in any item/runes they want in the game. Why even farm in single player when you can instantly get what you want.
The true collector has to play Online, where they can’t do that. And if you want to be solo self-found online, its a shame that you cannot do /players8.
It’s really funny how unfathomable it is for so many people that someone might want to not cheat their character via Hero Editor even if they can.

you can launch natively multiple d2r copies.
on my i7 32gb GTX1070 I can handle 5 copies so…
You’re playing the version of the game with bots in it. You can trade and use jsp. You also get grushed and use free items.
I couldn’t imagine playing online with all the hackers and bots.
I bet you also play LoD and have the exact same copy-paste hdin and blizz sorc that was dropped as freebies for you.
