I would like to play offline at times, to test my character.
Are there options to import items/create characters, to play offline?

Hero Editor is a great tool. You can explore many viable builds before trying them online.
Simply create chars/items you wish, carry the char files from D2LoD over to D2R save file … open them up in D2R SP and try them out.
Easy process and great and no cost exploration before you dive headfirst into building it on ladder.
There are many items already created out there in files that you can easily import using Hero Editor. Use your imagination and go wild.
You might surprise yourself at some of the weird builds you can come up with that are actually viable… great fun exploration tool.
I always wished there was a way to directly export online chars, but like they said ^, the only way to recreate it with an editor.
That being said, with a small amount of time and effort [or downloading someone elses work] you can duplicate any and all online characters, with relative ease …
