Well its not big deal if your not playing hard core and you are sure the controller is always fully charged, but its very annoying when the controller dies in the middle of combat and the game just say reconnect the controller. Most if not all the games i have put your game in pause/menu so you dont have to die. Why d2r dont put you in the pause/options menu and just left you to die?
blaming actiblizz for your incapability of paying attention to your, i repeat, YOUR OWN CONTROLLER’s charge level.
you’re a special kind of special.
Thank you for the opinion, but like i say is not a big deal, its anoing. The game is addictive and you can easily run out of battery on controller after few hours. So when the battery dies i hope you’re not playing HC character. And like i said most if not every console game have easy solution - put your game in pause menu. Imagine playing Returnal with good progress and suddenly controller turn off in middle of boss fight. The online is another story, im speaking for offline gameplay.
self responsibility isn’t an opinion.
There is not a pause option playing online D2R so batteries dying isn’t going to magically make one. I know you said offline so I don’t know how offline works.
On the classic d2 you hit escape button, voila. Whatever, i just dont care, i dont play hard-core and i die plenty anyways so die by controller some time will be just normal for me.
Yes, single player offline should have the option to pause by pressing Escape just like on PC. But the console controlls are mapped by someone who didnt thing this idea was usefull.
Get yourself second controller. I did that becasue in all day playing sessions one bettery is not enough sometimes and I dont have long enough cable to play plugged it. When you see warning about low battery level, just swap controllers and thats it
It is also handy for 2 player games.
You don’t notice when your controller is dying? All the BS wrong with this game and you’re complaining about the one thing that you are actually in control of yourself lmfao
The comments are amusing, but OP does have a point:
Inability to pause in single player is yet another (unnecessary) way that D2R on console is inferior to D2R and D2 Original on PC.
Well, you can pause, while on the save and exit screen the game is paused on console in single player.
Oh man, believe me i have noticed lots of wrong things about this game. Obviously blizzard dont have very much experience in consoles, so they must grind for exp.
I stand corrected. Just tested this to confirm for myself. You can pause the game in single player, but it takes 3-4 buttons presses to get to the Options screen. So having the game pause on loss of controller input wouldn’t be hard to implement at all.
Not as friendly as PC to hardcore players in a moment of panic, but better than nothing.
Could always keep cord plugged in and next to you.
Mine has told me (When I can get in) battery low.
