I work week-ends so my opinion is bias, but I’m hardly going to get in test time.

8/13 I’m expecting pre-purchase alpha or New Information at the least.
I don’t think there will be anything else this is it. Also we will only be able to progress through A1-2.
Lastly, like the Technical Alpha, both Act I: The Sightless Eye and Act II: The Secret of the Vizjerei will be fully playable. The fully remade Act I & II cinematics will also be viewable in the Diablo II: Resurrected Early Access and Open Beta tests. - From the Official announcement blog post.
Early access open for who preordered?
Kind of what I expected, D3 felt the same with very little difference between alpha and beta content. More than anything I just need a month long coma so we can get this going.

Yes early access is for those who pre-ordered, but Open Beta does not require pre-order.
Anyone who pre-ordered can download the game tomorrow to have it pre-installed.
just adding if you don’t pre order you can still download the game starting on the 17th at 10am PDT in anticipation of the open beta.
