As a means to help fire sorc compete with cold and lightning on an early budget I am suggesting we change Obedience to be craftable in a 5 socket staff. This allows fire to gain access to an early -25% fire res along with faster cast and plus skills. This of course doesn’t compete with wizendraw or crescent moon as cheaper alternatives but it does allow fire to be a ladder start exp grinder that the other two out compete at the price point. I have tried to be conservative about this and make it as easy as possible for this change to be implemented. I also do not see how this change would affect the overall power of fire as a 5 socket staff with appropriate mods is hard to find and it really only out shines damage wise on a budget. The moment you can afford 3 fire facets, flickering flame, eschutas, ormus, or infinity, you are probably dropping this early runeword for more dps. The main reasoning behind this more budget request is the simple fact that it is incredibly frustrating to kill fire immunes even with sunder early on. Fire facets and BiS uniques are not easy to come by. This change also would have a big impact on single player and really it just opens up efficient build diversity without making fire overpowered.
