I have tried all of that already, please remember it can not be an issue with my pc (cause the xbox and switch also are doing it) It can not be an issue with my I.P. or their equipment, because all other games (including diablo4) and video streaming are perfect. I have also noticed other players reporting similar problems in your tech support forums and no solutions offered. No there have not been any other players to help me, it’s been weeks since I first asked, and I want blizzard to help with the problem of their game not random other people on the internet. Thanks

Hello there Jared, on your issue with Diablo II: Resurrected, having lag in all platforms. You have followed the troubleshooting provided and still you are facing lag in all platforms,. not only on PC. It is possible that the server might having some issues, which can lead to latency when accessing the game. From the Customer Support side, we can only check if there are any known issues with the service, and currently we don’t have any reports of the service being down. It might be a temporary issue, I would advise you to check the X account, which will inform of outages and service related issues. Kind regards, Game Master Mestilania

So the x account shows nothing, and after 3 weeks I don’t believe it’s very temporary. What will be done next to help me?

Hey Jared! This Game Master Acmuxcuxxi, thank you for reaching out to us. I understand how frustrating it can be when you’re experiencing persistent lagging issues in Diablo II: Resurrected across multiple platforms, and you’ve already tried various troubleshooting steps. Let’s work together to resolve this so you can get back to enjoying your adventures! Since you’ve noticed other players reporting similar problems, it’s possible that this is a widespread issue. Keep an eye on the Diablo II: Resurrected Technical Support Forums for any updates or announcements from Blizzard regarding ongoing performance 19 Use the in-game command /FPS to check your latency and frames per second (FPS). This can help identify if the lag is due to high latency or low FPS. Although you mentioned that other games are running fine, it’s still worth following the connection troubleshooting steps specifically for Diablo II: Resurrected: • Reset Network Devices: Restart your router and modem to clear any potential data flooding. • Optimize Internet Connection: If you’re using a wireless connection, consider switching to a wired connection for more stability. • Check Network Configuration: Ensure that your firewall and router settings are not blocking the game. If you’re playing on a console, run the built-in connection test for your

connection-test If the lag persists despite trying all the above steps, consider submitting a bug report through the forums or contacting Blizzard support directly for further assistance. This is a guide on how to bug report for your convenience for both PC & Cons
Should you have further questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us Best regards Game Master Acmuxcuxxi Blizzard Entertainment

/fps dose nothing in this game. I enter it and the text box just disappears. Again, all of those other steps suggested have already been tried (connection trouble shooting). If there is a wide spread issue that’s causing this and effecting others, shouldn’t you contact whom ever can tell us this? “consider submitting a bug report through the forums or contacting Blizzard support directly for further assistance” I’ll go submit the bug now, but are you not blizzard support? How do I contact them “directly”? Thanks

Hey man, I just asked a question. What about this /fps command you guys suggested? Why are you ignoring this question?

Ekorawdeek

Hello there Jared, Game Master Ekorawdeek here, and thank you for contacting us. Reading your help request and previous communications, I see that there is an on-going lag issue you are experiencing while you are accessing Diablo 2 Resurrected in most of the platforms, and the frustration this has caused. After checking the case and thank you for the information provided on this, I understand that there was a suggestion to use the /FPS command that would allow you check further details on any performance incident, however we received your update that it did not work in this situation. Taking into consideration that there are certain limitations to investigate further these type of incidents, as mentioned before, best place to put these type of reports and errors is from within the Technical Support Forums, as it can help in prioritizing them for a fix, bringing this to the appropriate team’s attention. This way they can review this and make the next call, and your help on this by reporting the issue, is highly appreciated. Despite the current outcome, for anything else or issues you might have encountered, do not hesitate to contact us in a new ticket and we will be happy to assist you in the future. Kind regards, Game Master Ekorawdeek

It’s very likely a problematic connection hop between your ISP and Blizzard. If you want to investigate, download winMTR:

Plug your regions IP into WinMTR and click Start. Let it run for a good 20 minutes, or at least long enough where you normally see problems in the game. (You’ll want to test each IP for the region you normally play on, and you can run two concurrent sessions of WinMTR to do this.)

Diablo II: Resurrected server IPs:

Region IP Address 2nd IP Address
North America 137.221.106.88 137.221.106.188
Europe 37.244.28.80 37.244.28.180
Asia 117.52.35.79 117.52.35.179

It will give a readout of all of the connection hops, as well as ping and packet loss information for each. The first hop being your router, the last hop being the start of Blizzards network. In between are the various connection hops the data travels between the two points.

There is an export log option in WinMTR, so you could forward the logs to your ISP’s support email (or in this case, Blizzard), and they may be able to relay them to whatever hop may be having trouble so they can fix it.

Ty, i have the program downloaded, installed and running. It has a chart that is showing alot of numbers that change frequently. From what little i know about this stuff, (and i know very very little) there is a section that looks suspect.
Number 11 shows a 2% loss all the rest are 0

Mean anything?

Also i have been inquiring on other sites and someone suggested that blizzard may have done this to me ON PURPOSE?!! i use a grinding weapon to collect gold. I sell it to a vendor and buy it back. Im told they may not like that and are slowing my connection because. Though i seriously doubt this, i figured i would ask.

Btws tyvm man. Its awesome to see a nice person on the internet try to help others, and its sad as hell that pathetic blizzard wont, when its their responsibility.

Any loss between you and Blizzard on any of the hops is bad news, for the netcode in Diablo 2 has always been notoriously bad with any amount of loss. Even just 1% loss will eventually result in being dropped from the game. (“Your connection has been interrupted.”) Higher than 1% will result in drops more frequently, and you’ll also notice more character warping, getting stuck on ghost objects, actions failing to register, etc. up to the point where the game is unplayable.

Tyvm what should i do next? If i report this to blizz tech support they will do nothing, they made that very apparent.
I realy dont know what im doing, so alot of this goes over my head.
I guess i need to know who to tell and what to say.

You really are awesome for helping me man.

There isn’t anything Blizzard can do about connection issues outside of their internal network. You can try contacting your ISP to see if you can forward the winMTR logs, maybe they can pass them along to the owners of the problematic connection hop, that way they can use the information to try and pinpoint and correct the problem.

1-2% loss is also a number that some may consider “acceptable”, so it might be a challenge getting them to do anything about it.

The alternative for you anyways is to switch ISPs and see if that helps. If you do go this route though, stick with landline options… Avoid wireless connection options such as satellite and cellular, as they are inherently lossy.

Hopefully the problem stays resolved for you. knock on wood

Also another potential cause of connection issues is from our awesome Sun… It’s at solar maximum right now, potentially hurling chaotic flares, massive waves of charged particles and magnetic storms at Earth which can cause interference issues and even damage electronic equipment that isn’t properly shielded.

Nope! Still doing it. Just started again.

Winmtr is now showing huge loss% in all categories except for #1

If you’re getting loss right after your router/modem, that is your ISP, but it could also be a flakey cable modem.

It might be worth a try to power cycle the router/modem.

Once upon a time I dealt with occasional WIFI issues with my router, but I discovered there was a feature in the router to have it automatically reboot, which I set it to do every Sunday at 4 AM… No more problems since. It’s amazing how many issues a simple power cycle can help with. Now if a reboot fixes the problem for a while, but you find you’re having to do it more and more frequently as time goes on, that is often a sign of the hardware slowly failing.

If your cable modem was issued to you by your ISP, it might also be worth a shot to try swapping it out.

Unless it’s an obvious outage, ISPs often try and shift the blame to something else. Having proof, such as the logs from winMTR will hopefully help get to the bottom of the problem.

Hi, I have three stupid suggestions here.

#1 double check that you are playing on The servers closest to you (ie if you are in the western hemisphere, make sure you aren’t playing in asia). Even playing in europe gives me exceedingly bad lag causing double teles and failed clicks.

#2, Even with other games playing well, you may try doing a reset of your modem/router. I used to have a modem that a component failed in it. Turning it off for a bit would let it cool down, but after it warmed up it would fail again due to thermal bridging (or expansion/contraction maybe?). Wouldn’t explain other games playing fine though.

#3 Possibly try and reinstall? It’s VERY odd to me that you said the /fps command in chat does nothing (or a box pops up then disappears).
