I gambled 2.5 MILLION gold with 14% vendor reduction on rings and i didn’t get a single one while gambling in normal. Your chance of getting a rare is 1/10, so this just seems to be incredibly out of wack since i gambled alot of rings.
ive gambled just about 10 million and only has 3 rare rings and I had a 15% gheeds and the edge bow and the gheeds is a 40/15 and edge has 15% reduction so I had a total of 30% reduction
thats why i craft instead of gamble. cause the rng sucks butt
So you’re saying you purchased a ring from a vendor, they took your gold, but didn’t actually give you any ring in your inventory? And this happened over and over again?
When I gambled a gull dagger at level 11 this ladder, it took me over 11 million gold. On average it’s supposed to take 2 million. RNG is RNG.
hold up, wait. I learned back then that you cant get uniques from gamble.
did they change that? you can get uniques now?
about 1/2000 of gambling a unique
I got several billion gold…time to gamble a vampgaze lol
You’ve always been able to gamble uniques. There was a bug back in early D2 where if you gambled everything on the page you’d get a unique guaranteed. That was what was removed. The odds of a unique in any category when gambling is 1/2000, so you’re dealing with those odds on every individual gamble. That means you can get it right away or spend tens of millions of gold and walk away with nothing but frustration.
One thing to keep in mind is that gambling will only get items from a certain iLV range relative to your character. The rangs is CLv -5 to CLv +4. Vampire Gaze is iLV 49, meaning your ideal character level for that is 54 for gambling. If you try to gamble on a higher level character than 54 you’ll never get a Vampire Gaze.
oh snap, ty! lol good thing I forgot, now I’ll make sure I use it on a char within lvl range for vampgaze
There’s a minimum clvl requirement based on the qlvl of the item but there’s no maximum, you can gamble Vgaze at level 99 if you wanted to. As a matter of fact your chances improve at higher levels since the exceptional upgrade chance is better. This is a pretty useful tool to check the odds.

Having said that, I’d suggest against gambling for exceptional/elite uniques for that reason. Not only do you have the 1/2000 unique chance but you have to pass the exceptional/elite upgrade check as well. Even at level 99 your chances of gambling a Vgaze is only 1/4479 at 139,813 gold (97,869 after Gheeds + Edge) a pop, gonna take a lot of gold to gamble one.
That’s why I’d only bother gambling lowish level normal uniques like Gull dagger and the like.
hmm. i recently gambled too and every full inventory i got like 2 to 4 yellows in average
so this really was insane bad luck
