Not enjoying D2 after beating Hell what am I doing wrong?

Could it be that I am so conditioned to POE the the greatest ARPG ever made that I am not enjoying D2R?

I was excited for end game in D2 then I was like where is end game? ooh right it’s cow level? or is it? just 1 end game? but I am not getting any drops in cow level and I solo it so that’s the point? And I don’t know how to trade cause this game is so old and stupid.

In POE I can do shaper, delve, T14 map runs you name it and loot is wholesome and in abundance. I can just go to POE trade website click ANYTHING i want and just past it ingame and buy it from the seller.
In D2 where do you farm? what is the end game?
NOBODY knows there is no map runs nothing to do other than Cow level.

The builds in POE also feel super strong just a couple hours into the game very satisfying.
In D2 it’s a horrible boring slow progression very little fun.

BUT the youtube videos look really fun like if you watch people running these high end builds on youtube they look a lot of fun.

WHY can’t this game be as fun as POE
WHY Does it feels so purposeless to play D2?
Why does watching a youtube video of D2 make you want to play it but when you play the actual game you don’t seem to want ti?
WHY is POE so much fun?

I have concluded Amazon might just be a trash class and I would need to pick sorceress.
I do have Titans revenge but never any mana

And mana never seems to automatically refill like it does in POE

I want a brain dead ARPG that holds my hands like POE
Should I then go back to POE?

Like this video looks hella fun but I bet if I started playing a sorceress class it would be completely boring.

If you don’t like D2:R, then why are you punishing yourself by playing it?

With how much you’ve mentioned how great PoE is, it’s starting to feel like you’re being paid to advertise the game here.

Go, play PoE.

Probably buyers remorse if I was to guess.

And the fact that watching youtube videos make me want to play but the lack of trading is a real turn off. Like the currency they want for items on those trade websites is a real turn off like they are asking for currency you do NOT have.

In POE you can trade any trash currency that you can get by farming over and over and buy literally anything.

Imagine praising PoE now that they totally destroyed the main game. Ruthless is far more enjoyable than standard and leagues.

I prefer getting one shot by a soul or doll because i forgot to gear swap or playing overly ambicious. Dying because you open a strongbox and aura stackaded mobs with the “right” combination of mods demolish your 100 divine build with capped res and 7 auras because the devs seem to be clueless about how to make a game challenging and fun so their answer to provide challenge is to stack an insane amount of op modifiers that will kill any build regardless of gear.

I enjoyed my fair share of PoE, but the game is ruined. Even with a loot filter your screen is absolutely clogged with items. And items are barely worth picking up because the stat pool is way to large.

I prefer the more simple yet elegant d2, despite its flaws.

Johny boy here is a certified troll. Probably a payed shill also.

Yeah I like that D2 is simpler but its sooooo basic that I dunno what to say.

D2 seems like a game where the challenge is in early game an extremely extremely hard to near impossible task of completing Normal, Nightmare and Hell and you get the challenge of doing that and that is where the “fun” is
But how can you call that fun?
When POE’s fun is end game runs which is actually fun?
Since when is leveling considered fun in an ARPG?
I always thought FUN was farming those expensive amazing exalted orb drops in end game maps and getting end game uniques.

Like when I was a child and I couldn’t afford another game and my best game was Air Fotress on NES because it was crazy hard and due to that I was able to get countless hours of gameplay.

POE in comparison to me feels like D2 but with completely modern overhaul
POE to me is a lot like D3 but only the best parts from D3 like the QOL changes.

We talk a lot about D2’s end game but the truth is D2 doesn’t have a real end game at least not in the modern sense, D2’s so called end game which doesn’t exist is really about the “Challenge” of finding every unique which let’s be real nobody really wants to do.

I feel like D2 would be a lot more fun for me if my Amazon wasn’t so weak in HELL
In POE I could die to T14 maps quite easily yes BUT I wouldn’t lose gold or all my gear in the process then have to QUIT the game lose everything and restart with my body in base to reclaim my loot.

Like all the talk about POE being difficult because of a “complex” skill tree which isn’t actually complex.

Let’s be real if you have basic reading skills and very very basic math you can make a build in POE or use one of the millions already created.
IF you can’t run T14 maps then you can run T7 maps

What real alternative does D2 have? kill Baal on nightmare instead of Hell?
but then won’t your drops be way more trash? and how would that help you in HELL?

I am already level 80 I can kill cow level on HELL, but not the magic immune king cow.
The drops are trash in Cow and I never have mana.

I found a crack of the heaven in a cow level and somehow it feels like my entire build is weaker after equipping it. WTF

I wonder if Sorceress would be a far easier character than Amazon?

You could make an insight for your mercenary and you will have infinite mana.

If you can’t kill baal in hell you can farm pits, andariel, ancient tunnels, travincal, mephisto, diablo, shenk, eldritch or pindleskin.

You can even farm in nightmare as you suggested.

There are lots of runewords that are not considered meta but excellent when first starting out.

Hi
If I farm nightmare while I am level 80 does it mean I will get worthless drops?
Or will I get drops for my level?

Whats the difference between nightmare and hell.

I have a big problem with the immune in this game, POE has no such issue.
I don’t know why mobs are immune to lightning in this game it seems to take away the fun

I will try the idea you suggested with insight on mercenary

But my mercenary is trash he dies so easily on Hell

I have a 26 defense helmet for him

the Diablo2 (dot) io website

can I use this site to trade and how do I trade do I have to add the person on my battle net?

keep feeding the troll, when will you learn to ignore this guy? lol

Yup. Who gives a crap about an end game? It’s all gonna be some repetitive grind or scaling.

Just replay d2 again. Grind if you want. D2 is better without some artificial end game imo. The whole game is the end game. It’s not just pindle/chaos/baal spam unless you want that. It’s arguable most players do grind but it’s not at all mandatory

If you think d4 has some magic non-repetitive end game you’re not too smart

Well at least you are honest about this.

Most people have been lying now for decades about D2 having end game
End game is in a game like POE where you do endless map runs or endless delve dive.

D2 clearly has NO end game.

People should be more honest and just say D2 has a lot of replay-ability.

Diablo 2 has an endgame. It revolves around loot collection. It’s a fairly simple concept, and you act as though the original developers who came up with a basic high paced loot collection game back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s and named it “Diablo 2” are somehow to blame for creating new trends in rpgs and defining the arpg sub genre by doing so.

I realize you really like POE, but POE came out what? Like 10 or 11 years ago? Diablo 2 first came out like 22, 23 years ago. That’s a huge difference, my acquaintance on the 'net.

Maybe consider the time frame of trends in pc gaming around the late '90’s, and what had actually been done, and how there was no arpg sub genre before Diablo and Diablo 2.

Is it revolutionary by today’s standards? No. In fact, it kind of sucks when you put it up to modern games. But most of the current community for D2R are people who played the original when it was very much relevant.

Our expectations for games are not having so much loot you suffer loot fatigue after five minutes, or having a game hold your hand and literally not let you make mistakes.

I’m not saying POE is either of those things, but modern games have modern standards, and I would argue those standards are horribly compromised compared to a time when people did more than stare at a phone or computer or tv all day.

The endgame is creating a new character, the game is all about creating new characters, gear them up, and then new character again

Dude this is a remaster. If u dont like it, delete it pls.

Well d2 does have an end game it’s just whatever you want that be. Grinding areas? Grinding bosses? Bis gear? Beating hell baal? Beating the game with each class? Beating Uber trist?

It’s open ended but not explicit like modern games. If you want the best end game items you need to grind. Not everyone wants that but some love the game and they want that
