Hi all - this will probably be several questions in one. Also, I’m alternating between XBox and PC, but have been playing mostly on XBox if it matters…
So I’m a bit rusty, haven’t played in 20 years or so. Started off the re-release with a bowazon and last week found the unique longbow. Earlier I went online to look at runewords and such and was excited to discover there’s a cube recipe to upgrade normal uniques to exceptional. I tried it, and sure enough I got Raven Claw. I know there are better things to socket but I tried and Larzuk wouldn’t do it. I vaguely remember he won’t do exceptionals on normal difficulty (?)
So tonight I found the unique Long War Bow (Blastbark I think) on another character. I transferred it to my now mid-50’s Amazon and tried the same recipe. It upgraded it, but to a Blastbark gothic bow with gothic bow stats. The bright side was that Larzuk would socket it.
So why was the one converted to the actual exceptional unique and not the other? Was it my character level and if so can I do it again with Blastbark when the time comes? Not upset about it - it’s still a nice item and I’m sure I’ll graduate to something else soon enough.
