No audio in game

I have no sound at all in-game. No NPC audio, no music, no cutscene, nothing. Audio device works for everything else, to include other games from the Blizzard launcher, but get zilch from D2.

I have the same problem aswell, cant find anything online about how to fix this.

Same problem here… One week ago this problem was solved after new patch, but yesterday problem back…
My sound card is Asus XONAR U5

Same here. No audio in the game at ALL starting today. Nothing in my windows is muted - all other sound on the PC works.

No audio here at all neither! WTF

No audio at all, reinstalled, scanned for repairs, checked for updates. HELP!

I have some audio issues associated with Asus Sonic Suite which is an audio enhancement app that comes with a lot of Asus motherboards and perhaps Asus sound cards also? Solution for me is to close that application before launching diablo 2. The icon for me is found in the little tray beside the volume icon (windows). It looks like the letter S with a red background. Just right click and close it. Hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion, turns out I have a MSI gaming motherboard and didn’t see any background apps. Closed a few things and tried running as admin and still no sound. I feel like I possibly had sound up first start up and I skipped videos and lost sound. That was before I reinstalled

Thank you for helping me solve the problem
I also use the ASUS motherboard(ROG STRIX B360-F GAMING) and the audio driver provided by ASUS
After I closed Asus Sonic Suite, everything worked fine.

Just solved this too, I have an MSI GF62VR laptop. I disabled Nahimic and rebooted. Audio is back. Thanks :+1:
