Desync will probably be fixed indirectly by the 3d overlay on top of the older engine. Pretty sure the reason it is currently in the game is because the server is 25 fps and you can move faster than the game can update the locations to other players. It may still be present under the hood, but the newer 3d engine should have the capability to know where you are even if the old engine has not yet updated.

it’s not a bug tho? And it’s not just “completely negates armor” it bypasses the chance to hit formula altogether, meaning attacker wouldn’t even have the default 5% chance to miss. Also your block gets reduced to 1/3rd.
no where in the game ui or help does it tell you that running reduces your chance/ability to defend or block, which is why i consider it a bug. When you use berserk on barb it shows on the character page that your defense is 0
Running turns your defense rating to zero. Blocking chance is one third.
Walking is the way where you maintain your defenses in battle.

Let’s say that you took a hit that stunned you in FHR animation while running (zero defense). Your defense is not zero anymore, you have force stopped running and your defense will help evade the other attacks you will receive during recovery.
I wonder if the devs are going to do anything about this. Well, I’d certainly love it if running thing gets modified but since defense is about reducing chance to get hit, it is unlikely that they will.
Diablo 2 has so many hidden mechanics and nuances that aren’t explained in game. Do you consider faster cast rate breakpoints to be a bug because they aren’t in the game UI or /help menu?
