I want to buy an Exile base, an eth Vortex shield, with resistances.
Anybody has an offer?

ETH vortex shield hard to come by lol—don’t see many here. Bought one off toul once upon a time lol.
I think you should check out the sacred Targe. High chance to block, low str req, and easier to come by.
Do you want an ETH shield? You prefer ar/enhanced damage or res for your exile ?

Thank you man, you always give useful suggestions. 
I think Eth Vortex is still a better base for Exile, since it has much higher defense. Even 50 defense could make a big difference in the final character defense, since the defense of the shield would be multiplied by many times (enhance defence thanks to Holy Shiled and Defiance aura).
Strength is no big issue, since I put enough stats points, so that my smiter is able to use Stormshield. I don’t know whether Smiter still use Stormshield nowadays against barbarian. I don’t remember whether Exile or Stormshield is better against WW Barb.
(Gonna read some guides for PVP smiter)
As menthioned, I would like to make an Exile for future PVP.
I would prefer it one shield with all resistances.

Ok dude—sounds like you got a handle on it
I will just say this because I spent a lot on ETH vortex shield before and wish I hadn’t.
I assume you are doing public pvp with a smiter…in that case you want as much life as you can—so you want as many hard points into vitality as you can and as few hard points as you can Into to strength and Dex.
Most likely, if you are worried about WW barbs and are in public dueling, they probably won’t have enough AR to deal with holy shield and exile because they need their other gear for sorc, zons, etc. . So having that extra defense won’t matter as much. Now, if you are in melee dueling, that extra defense will matter but that will be for zealer—and Ww baba not really in melee pvp.
So, for your purposes, I would still highly suggest the sacred Targe in ETH base with res. For Public smiter pvp, you are just wasting too many stat points to hit that strength and sacrificing your life
Lastly, vortex shield range on smite damage too wide of range. You will lose matches that you actually should’ve won kinda thing

I don’t have an eth vortex but I do have an eth sup sacred rondache 13% Ed with 39 @res 0os. I’d part with it for a Vex - not to torpedo myself…but if you plan for pvp I’d also go sacred targe my personal fave for all the reasons Rek mentions.
Eth vortex for mid res like 25-30 still goes for Lo to Sur range. 40+ will easily be Ber+ for that base
ST imo is a cheaper base and a bit more flexible with different gear options to pair with it

Yeah that wide range of 5-87 kinda sucks, but if I use a grief as main weapon, maybe the damage of the base is not that important?
I just checked out the offers on Traderie.
Vortex Shields are too expensive, I am wondering whether they are a bit overrated, because many of them have low defense. When it’s less than 300, I am wondering whether it’s really better than a Zakarum, which is far cheapter.
I also checked out the price of Sacred Targes, they are also very expensive.
Why people don’t want Kurast or Zakarum? They seem to be much cheaper. I am considering buying a eth Zakarum 283 DF +38 AR, and it seems to cost 2 Ists.

Man reason why sacred Targe wins vs Kurast/Zak shield (besides all posted above reasons): the chance to block rate is highest on ST

And as far as the shield damage and grief, it does matter and especially in player versus player —every single bit of extra damage and extra life will determine the match on who wins or loses———>1 point of life is a biiiiigggggdeal in PvP
Please do not roll the exile in the kurast/Zak base or anything other than a secret charge or Vortx shield. The last thing that you want or anyone else wants is a fantastic GG roll in a base that is not desirable at all

Reklov, maybe you understood it wrong. The one that Moose offers, is a SR but not a ST.

Vortex- def is better smite dmg higher, but smite range too far apart on min max dmg.
Sacred targe - better block, more consistant and average smite dmg.
Sacred rondche, kurast and other shield can consider for budget and pvm.
Melee duel - get a knight mode instead of all resist mode
Public pvp or pvm- get a all resist

Lol all good Rek - ST is objectively a better base.
@rust if you want a shield for both pvp and pvm go with the ST.
If just pvm then I’d say go with whatever one you like the best that works with your budget. I’ll knock down my price to ist also…but I’d still say go with with ST you can probably find a reasonable one for 2 - 3 ist

Now I realise why it’s not that important to use Vortex Shield anymore. When I played Diablo 10 years ago, there was still Eth bug, eveybody was using Vortex for Exile. With Vortex shield, we can gain a huge amount of defense. Now eth bug doesn’t exist anymore.

I do have an eth sacred targe with 35 all resist exile.
it have a good role of 258ED and 16 aura. near perfect role.
If its an acceptable offer I might be ok.

This one is not bad, but I’ll try to get one with higher defense and higher res.
I just bought a Zakarum Shield with a reasonable price. (2 ISTs)
Defense 283, AR 38, required Strength 132, damage 46-46.
I guess it’s not bad, because it has very high roll for a Zakarum.
The defense of an Eth Zararum varies from 253 to 289
an Eth Vortex 273-337.
It means the Zakarum that I bought has almost the defense of a lower Vortex.
I have already given up searching a Vortex with reasonable price. It’s too expensive. it’s as if there were an inflation of Vortex because of Ukranian war.
Even an AR 30 costs at least Vex.
I also made offers for ST, (Lo for 39-41 AR) but nobody answers…
I will wait a bit. If there’s no other offer for ST, I might make my first Exile on this Zakarum.
Another question, do you recommend to upgrade HOZ, or you think it’s a waste of STATS points?
