Nintendo Switch features wish-list

Hello, I’ve played D2 as a kid and got Switch for Christmas. D2 is the first game I began playing for nostalgic reasons and I am loving it.

I was first very skeptical due to having 0 experience w/ consoles as such and thought it’s going to be impossible w/o a mouse. The beginnings were hard, but I am shocked how well did I get used to the controls. I killed Hell Baal yesterday (single player). Will be going after Ubers and leveling more chars now.

Even though I am really happy w/ how it plays, there are a few changes that would make the experience much better.

  • Option to hotkey “Save Game & Quit.” It is relatively hard to get to in tense moments and it slows down farming (e.g., Pindle)
  • Managing potions works surprisingly well. However, it’d be great if it were possible to a) Change the item assigned to each column (e.g., Rejuv to Column 4) and b) Force locking in the columns, (e.g., if my belt is empty and I pick up Mana pot, it goes to Column 2) I imagine that these belt settings could live in a tab next to “General Skills”
  • It’d be nice if touch controls were allowed during inventory management. I understand it’d be funky in other areas, but here I see no downsides and a lot of value. I just spent quite a bit of time reorganizing my chest and upgrading gems/runes in the Cube, and it would have been great if it were possible to do this via the touchscreen
  • Option to use the “-enablerespec” command (or at least unlock it, e.g., by killing Baal)

Glad you’re enjoying the game like many of us are.

The touchscreen part is a nice idea but need work. People have small to large fingers. Wouldn’t benefit those with large. I won’t like to accidentally put gem/rune in my socket items. Enlarging the screen defeat the purpose of rearranging inventory faster.

I would like to see enablerespec for offline just like PC. I like testing builds. Infinite respec would save me more time to level up my characters to wear the gears.

It still may be optional. Wouldn’t benefit everyone, but would benefit at least some.

I have now been thinking that it would be great if it were also possible to use touch screen for picking up items. Quite often it is hard to have the right item on the ground highlighted for pick up. An extreme case are chests in Lower Kurast - it’s really hard to pick up the right items, and it’d be super convenient if it were possible just to click them by finger.

Let say your idea works. How does other console or PC user feel? A good idea has to work for everyone.

I experience killing mass cows or at travs. All the items are layed on top of each other. My temporary solution is to move large items away so i could pick up the smaller ones. A simple workaround but not changed the game in anyway is to add a small colored light on the far side. It would light up orange if a rune is dropped within your screen. But use your imagination how to improve this. At least we dont miss items on the ground if we are teleport or running by it.
