Nice quality of life for patch 2.5

Would like to see the following, non game breaking quality of life for patch 2.5 and season 2:

  • Official loot filter
  • Buff/debuff duration icons (would like to see when my battle order/command is about to expire, or shrine duration…)
  • Use skills in town
  • Dummy in town with dps counter
  • Sell super potions starting from nightmare instead of hell
  • Remove jewel requirement when combining 3 runes into higher rune
  • Change bolt/quiver to be similar to throwing weapons: can be normal / magic / rare / unique, can have increased stack size and replenish quality affixes, and maybe ethereal too
  • More shared stash, or if it is due to technical barrier, change from 1 personal 3 shared to 3 personal 1 shared so that players don’t need to make so many mules
  • Stackable jewels and runes
  • Shrine of stamina provides frw in addition to unlimited stamina, maybe +30%, and if possible, completely remove the stamina system and change the shrine to shrine of movement
  • Item sort button in inventory and stash

More discussions and suggestions would be welcome

I agree with all of this.

Also I wish the stash had a search feature. I know some people can recognize a rune just by sight. But a simple casual still has to hover over them to see which one is which.

I dont get the want for an auto sort. I have never found a game that did it well.

Staminas not going away. It doesnt really impact the player after like lvl 20, so editing all the items that give stamina affects would just be wasted work.

Arrows, I wouldnt mind, like Ice arrows, fire, psn, life/mana steal, etc blue arrows I guess sure other categories arent really needed.

jewel requirement for rune combining? You mean Gem? If so yes, would be nice.

Use skills in town why? So sorcs can tele all over and be loud and annoying?

  • Official loot filter

I would love to see this, it’s annoying to have to sift through lots of crap and potentially miss something good. No, spam drinking potions or zooming in to see loot is not engaging gameplay.

  • Buff/debuff duration icons (would like to see when my battle order/command is about to expire, or shrine duration…)

I’d like this as a toggleable option, it’d be very nice especially for shifter druids since they need to be in shifter form to attack.

  • Use skills in town

I think I’ll have to pass on this one for both gameplay and “lore” reasons, people shouldn’t be allowed to teleport or charge around in town because it’d give sorcs and pallies an even larger advantage and it would disturb the townsfolk.

  • Dummy in town with dps counter

Sure, though I think implementing something like this would take a lot of work and I’m not sure if it’d be worth the trouble.

  • Sell super potions starting from nightmare instead of hell

Not sure what to think about this one. Indifferent.

  • Remove jewel requirement when combining 3 runes into higher rune

I’d like to see this, yes. It’s just an annoyance and it doesn’t really facilitate trading either because nearly nobody holds onto the mid-tier gems, most of the time you just have to grind them out yourself.

I wouldn’t mind if they left the flawless gem requirements though, just get rid of the chipped/flawed/normal gem requirements.

  • Change bolt/quiver to be similar to throwing weapons: can be normal / magic / rare / unique, can have increased stack size and replenish quality affixes, and maybe ethereal too

Again, not sure. It seems like bowazons are in a good spot after the 2.4 synergy buffs but I don’t know.

  • More shared stash, or if it is due to technical barrier, change from 1 personal 3 shared to 3 personal 1 shared so that players don’t need to make so many mules

Modders have enabled more shared stash tabs in single player (up to 8 total shared stash tabs up from 3) so it shouldn’t be a problem from a technical standpoint.

I’m not sure if the shared stash suffers from the 8KB file limit that the save files (.d2s) do, so if they do then they’d need to up that to 16KB or 24KB so that people don’t lose their items. They need to fix the save file limit that’s currently an issue.

  • Stackable jewels and runes

I don’t think jewels can be stacked because they’re complex items (unless if you meant gems), I’d love to see stackable runes, gems, and keys but only in the stash. I think a stackable currency stash tab would be a great addition to the game to save a lot of space and mules.

  • Shrine of stamina provides frw in addition to unlimited stamina, maybe +30%, and if possible, completely remove the stamina system and change the shrine to shrine of movement

Eh, it’d be nice but I think stamina is alright where it’s at. Not all shrines are meant to be useful in the late game.

  • Item sort button in inventory and stash

I probably wouldn’t use it but some people could find it useful. Indifferent.

One suggestion I’d add is increasing the amount of online character slots to 50, 20 just isn’t enough.

No it wont happen and they explained why back in dec

I would not mind that

You already have weapons that are normal,magic/rare/unique tho…throwing weapon is considered weapon while arrow/bolts are not

No thanks, learn to manage your storage wisely.

No this is not MMO, and it wont happened as each runes has it’s own unique ID, stacking would cause lots of troubles

can consider i guess?

no thanks, none of them work out as intended. Also doubtful the codes underneath is ever built for such options

I don’t think they actually went over loot filters in the developer interview.

No thanks, learn to manage your storage wisely.

It’s not about storage management, in original D2 you could make infinite accounts and thus have infinite storage. Nobody is asking for infinite storage in D2R, just some more because 20 character slots and 1 personal stash tab each is not enough.

No this is not MMO, and it wont happened as each runes has it’s own unique ID, stacking would cause lots of troubles

Don’t see how MMOs are relevant to the discussion. I’m sure the devs can find a way around unique IDs, they’ve got the source code after all.

Loot filter can be done. There’s one in Median XL.

More space is not unreasonable. Most people who are against this have only a few characters. I play all of them and multiple specs of each one. I have 2-3 spec for every character. Us not having access to as many mules restricts this more than normal.

Stacking runes would be great and IS possible. Also done nicely in Median XL as well where a lot of these problems are resolved without issue. Almost all of these have already been done by modders. Bliz can do them too.

Loot Filter:
Still don’t agree with it for multiplayer loot. Perfectly fine with it in private games, would even be “ok” with it in multiplayer games while not in a party (taking advantage of additional party loot drop bonuses)/not within the general 2 screen distance of other players. Will probably happen though, as they mentioned in December if they were going to do it, they wanted to do it right or something to that degree.

Buff Timers: Fine, sounds good. Can easily be worked into the display skill icon bar. Throw Martial Arts charges onto it as well. Debuff timers might be harder to work into the UI, but not against it.

Skills in Town: Against, mainly for the annoyance of people spamming Barb warcries or creating flashy effects in town while waiting either for a TP during Baal runs, or in general if I’m trying to focus on my stash, allocating points, etc.

DPS Dummy: Against, same reasons as above. While I’m not against showing damage numbers above target heads, this isn’t a DPS check style game with rotations to practice.

Remove Gem Requirements: While not against fully, I do feel it removes something of the game, and if we get a stack tab, holding onto flawed and regular gems will be less of a hassle.

Ammo Quivers: Neutral, though slightly against as I feel it will necessitate needing to go back to general durability on bows or it could be too tedious of an issue.

Stacking: Needs to happen, high chance of happening as per no real negative thoughts from the December stream. Should happen this next patch though as we rollover the first season into non-seasonal lineup, especially for space concerns into Ladder 2.

Shrine: No comment.

Item Sort: No comment.

What was their excuse for being lazy and anti-players this time again?

Meanwhile every mods and their mother have a loot filter

There also has been a single player loot filter for D2R ready on the first week lol

they did

original d2 use old bnet platform, d2r is based on new bnet platform(the one wow is using) and each have different limitations

tell that to wow team who cant get their default bag larger than 16 slots

having source code does not mean it can be altered without causing other bigger problems. It’s all based on where the code is written at what level.

anti player or anti lazy asses I wonder?

100%

100% but not like, obnoxious icon above the character head, just perhaps the life globe flashes or something when its expiring…

Why? lol this is not essential.

Non essential.

Good consession

You mean Gem requirement… Yeah this one was always a PIA to retain X amount of gems for charm reroll, cubing, AND rune upping.

More stash and more characters per account.

Only in a stack tab, I dont want to have to go through 15 mules to figure out where my stack of Tal runes is, 1 nice neat Tab is all the QOL we need.
