I wonder why Blizz doesn’t want to make more money on that game.
Are they really so naive to think that all of us will switch to D4? A lot of people have been playing D2 for years. Starting as kids, today they are adults with jobs and money - no need to ask parents for few bucks to buy new content. Perfect clients I would say. The funny thing is that fixing those few annoying bugs and and adding things community ask for (stacking runes/gems, full equipment for mercs, nerfing some runewords/buffing uniques, etc.) is rather easy job, no large expenses needed. And adding on top some new content, also easy to create - new items, runewords, etc. would let Blizz ask for few bucks from us. And all those adult people playing because of nostalgia would pay. Maybe they don’t understand it? That all those older guys will never play D4. Like me. I bought D4 and VoH and… not even started 
Lost business opportunity for me. Am I wrong? What do you think, guys?
One more thing: don’t write here please what you would expect from the game. It’s not another thread of this kind - “I want this or that”.

Blizzard ought to make an expansion giving the pro-change players what they want, and charge for it. Those who want the game to stay as it is can stand pat and not purchase the expansion. Both camps would be happy.

BIG balance patch is all we need, new expansion is absolutely no needed, blues devastated D2R enough with terrible decisions: eg. old and ugly models, “fixed” feature bugs (def,wsg,wsm etc), fhr changes, nerfed melee even more with WW changes, sunders, mosaic and etc etc etc.
Who tf cares abut these stupid purist ppl nowadays!?!?! Most of them quit long time ago due to terrible D2R changes or even never bought D2R, also there is classic D2 LoD for rest of them.
These WASD blue losers arent capable to make even a decent (not even good or very good) dlc lol.

Nice try. What you fail to mention is the majority of the very loud minority group you are referring to wanted a slew of changes and additions, but generally snubbed the idea of paying more for it.

I remember many ppl aked for this as best option, purists would got their perfect game, normal players would got modern release, but who would play and buy purist farmed gear?!? ;(
This is the same in SCR, ppl asked to separate modes for: PRO mode and ~modern mode with all qols from SC2, then they released game in 1:1 even if beta ver had unlimited selection cap

First primo many ppl (like me) bought 3+ copies for more mules and /p cmd and to support D2R as live service game as they promised*
Second primo botters (I will not say about top botters or whales or shop owners LOL) bought 10+ copies EZ
Third primo they advertised D2R as Diablo we best remember and most ppl best remember Classic 1.00-06 and LoD 1.09; when 1.10 hit most ppl are long gone - many quit in CL, some in LoD, many due to 1.10.
Fourth primo 1.10+ is the worst and most unfriendly era to play Diablo 2, thats why these 5million decreased very fast and today we have a ghost town.
Just need Bliz open the code to mods online
honestly i agree at this point… not supporting tcpip. was all fine and dandy when they said “they were going to support the game”
but not allowing the fans to do so when they won’t kinda lost them that excuse for removing it.
the saddest part is not much needs to be changed at all.
we dont need or want sweeping balance changes.
and frankly outside of freak anomaly that was mosaic, the patches are been pretty damn good. so much so i enjoy the game of d2:R itself more than LOD.
but it still has the issue with the terrible bnet 2.0 integration…
no having a chat filter, not having a usable block list because its soo small… not having chat channels.
and on top of that while i dont really want balance changes. for builds/skills already used. especially after the mosaic disaster. there is no reason to not add QOL changes like a lootfilter, or more space in inventory that charms dont work in so we can pick up items
