Well fact is D2 is still played to this day by 1000s of players and that’s even before counting the mods like PoD and PD2.
But feel free to be in denial, I don’t disagree with you I am saying you’re wrong and you don’t know better because you probably was not playing D2 at all before D2R launched.
But this is MOBA generation, you see. The forget what skills they have assigned if they don’t see little pictures. Just you wait till they replace the simple but easy-to-read icons with some colorful pictures like D3.
No, not really. Just because you shave off one button click doesn’t make it smoother. And even if, the point is to keep that “roughness”. If you keep changing things, are you still playing D2? “You gotta know where you’ve been to know where you’re going”.
Sorry the 20 year old crowd is not the only ones playing. Blizzard wants the game to resonate with younger gamers as well. One of the ways to do that is to drag the archaic control systems kicking and screaming into the future.
Obviously this is something a lot of people want or Blizzard wouldn’t have looked into it in the first place.
I don’t think you know how programming and bugs work. They are called “BUGS” For a reason. They are annoying, pop up everywhere, can be a pain to take care of, and finally if/when you do… 2 or more take it’s place.
Otherwise they would just be called Coding Errors.
Edit : On the topic of the improvements and “New Features”…
I haven’t seen anywhere they have mentioned any single thing about item/skill changes or rebalancing. As a vet who’s played since the original diablo, where windforce was the top tier item or 6 socket bows, and ppl were glitching town so they could TP and PK (Yes, in town!!), I would love to see it.
Mobility atm around enigma though is nice. Not bumping heads against mobs and walls, and moving to your destinations at a high cost of an expensive runeword just feels right. The strive to get Enigma and the Quality of Life it gives is just plain GOOD. Outside that, I’d love to see balance changes! Bowazon used to be one of my favorite chars, but I stopped playing because in PVE anything they could do, other classes did better, faster, and got better rewards.
D2 resurrected is not = d2 LOD.

It doesn’t really change anything. Noobs think it does and I guess this is just like a squeaky toy for them to have fun with. But it doesn’t change the mechanics on how skills work nor does it change the fact that the majority of classes never repeatedly use more than two or even one skill, and it was never the lack of a “skill bar” that made this so. If saving a nanosecond in having to recast Shiver Armor gets you excited, good for you I guess lol
If useless fluff like this is how they’re going to support the game them I’m cool with it. I’m out the moment they try “balancing” anything or adding new gear though
I agree. You should. More changes will be coming for Ladder.
It’s ridiculous this game didn’t have real keybinds when it was developed. A keyboard is not a 1980s nintendo controller with two buttons.

I hope this argument of “ruining dueling” doesn’t continue. From what I remember dueling was a matter of whoever could see the other person on the screen first won, not a well balanced gaming experience.
