New item and a Fresh ladderboard won’t help to prevent quick Repetition boredom. If there is no new activities to do, ladders flat fast. The game needs news Additional content oriented ladders/event/activities

if you are bored with the game might be a good time to take a break. and come back when you feel like playing some more.
people are probably just busy playing fresh diablo immortal on their phones. or banned from using map cheat.

Taking breaks don’t change the fact that the base game has 20years of existence, it’s solved for the majority of players. Taking a break doesn’t generate new stuff to do, so even if you come back, you’ll just hit that wall faster because there’s nothing to do. It’s like watching a movie 100 times but in this case, there is a way and potential to add twists

a expansion or some fresh content for d2r would be cool for sure. but probably not going to happen. and if it does. it’s probably not going to be done anytime the next few years.

Welcome to modern day lazy devs

Back in the days they made games and expansions in a few months

Noawadays, you have D2R devs that take months to do slight changes and potentially years to add new content

All that while they already have every tool and every bite of code needed to do so though all the mods that existed through the years

It’s the same game that exists under the hood
