it dont need to be end game…just a lil earlier usable
although i dont think many ppl would spend much time with nightmare countess when they start…more likely to farm andy upon reaching hell(assuming fresh ladder)
pretty certain that anyone that bother farming her will do so for insight and spirit runes at most for the dmg boost
edit: i’am not counting Non-Ladder because they would have literal no use with all the high lvl dropping freebies uniques on nl
Can replace Sol with Ith and still roll the 15% DR. The flat physical damage reduction isn’t as useful in mid to late game as it is early on. At least for builds other than an ES sorc but no ES sorc would be wearing Bulwark.
because since its less power than rockstopper…they should be lower lvl req(from that viewpoint)
and 2: i think it would be a nice addition for low level duelers players(Kicker//Smiter builds) which dont benefit from Min-Max dmg Jewels to at least have Bulwark available to them
edit: the 10 vitality lost in exchange to use it earlier is not too big sacrifice(20-40 life depending on class)…15% dr is still a huge amount for that lvl range…the only other items that would provide DR % of that magnitude is String of Ear Belt and Rockstopper
so they still net a nice benefit even without the 10 vitality
edit 2: ok maybe not entirely bad but like not rly worth farming either
it dont power up melee dmg…and as usual…the fresh ladder will be flood of casters(which are still gonna favor the Lore helm for + 1 skill)
like what incentive is there to make these helms knowing whats gonna happen on fresh ladder ?
edit 3: maybe add 75% mf on them and that might attract a bit of attention for casters…kickers and smiter would probably like them(for ppl that absolutly refuse to play caster for optimal farm)
that wont help merc unfortunetly…merc have slighty bad scaling for their health pool…so they still be dying XD(especially since they go in melee range)…the biggest factor though is their “Defense”…without solid defense all enemies hit actually whack them(which is the main sourc of dmg they take)…except when it come to travincal the main sources of dmg are those hydra(even with max fire resist the merc struggle vs hydras)…finding them a decent defense armor is the biggest hurdle
unlike players they can’t block dmg…but they can evade it with raw def
Shael/Io/X is not. You can literally make all 5 of these before you find a rockstopper. Bulwark gives more DR than rockstopper, so if u dont need the res, you don’t need rockstopper.
The resist variants with their absorb are effectively Kiras gaurdian in functionality but at level 35. They’re way better than what you think they are and you could make each one before you found a shako and kiras due to how cheap they are. If you farm a specific area with specific resist requirements, its just a cheap kiras at that point. There is no real reason to actively seek another helm before shako based on how efficient they are, and if u had a rockstopper, especially a low roll, you may not even use it.
Should absolutely be nerfed a bit, 60 res and 15% absorb is really good, and it being available at 35 means all the other items at this level req may as well not exist when this costs Shael Io/X
Yea, I tested the defense out in SP mode and there was a noticeable difference in merc survivability between using 2K defense Fortitude vs the 4K ones.
