Ew…

20 chars… bah.

I type 20 chars worth and it still won’t post… meh

Skill balance in future patch seems good but this I don’t know man, it doesn’t make me hyped. New runewords will just make unique items even more useless. It’s still probably weaker than Grief anyway and if they make it stronger then we get power creep which is also bad.

330 ED for just a fal. Nice stepping stone for melee barbs.

Might even be useful for A5 barb mercs, again as a stepping stone.

It’s a step in the right direction since runewords took over. Gives melee some love. A cheap high damage weapon for barbs is nice.

I hope they also put in a lot of work to boost unused uniques and runewords - so we don’t see most BiS items as runewords.
For this item, it really looks like one of the runewords the devs talked about as a merc weapon (in this case for act 5 mercs)

Looks OK not really exciting but makes me look forward to more.

I love it. The Grief meter.

Is it better than Grief? Power creep.
Is it worse than Grief? Useless.

Sometimes I feel like the forums doesn’t know a whole game exists between the start and when your first High Rune drops so you can play the true, lmao, endgame of trading.

Think about the possibilities for this weapon on act 5 merc - starting to aggro all the mobs.
Could be interesting with the other changes coming to mercs/hirelings.

I get you. That was probably bad example but I guess I would just prefer it to be a unique weapon. I don’t really need new stuff like this in game and would prefer not used items, skills, maps etc overall content that already exist to be made useful to keep nostalgia value in the game and at the same time more to play around with. When I feel like playing new content I have D4 in mind.

Cool, it’s very welcome but I hope Blizzard has plan for unique and set weapons - I do not wish to see them killed off completely. :frowning:

its not break immunity, why build it? meh

It’s cheap, pretty good, better than almost all weapons you find in early ladder. Why wouldn’t you build one?

No one has BotD/Grief on day 1 of ladder, and most won’t be able to afford those until late in ladder. There is a thing called item progression, and this is a huge stepping stone of an item until you get enough wealth for engame items.

Runewords like this would KILL the itemization in D2R.

98% of all items you find can be tossed in the trash can, worthless junk.
This is the same crap as with GRIEF or SPIRIT.

Zero costs, mega strong item.
Is that the kind of balancing we can expect?..good lord.

Yeah D2 itemisation is much more than just runewords… They are already controversial enough since they appeared.

I mean that’s what runewords already did though. Look at runewords like spirit that can carry casters until they find endgame stuff. Melee needed the same thing.

I’d love for them to revisit uniques and buff them up as well though.

It looks nice as a stepping stone to oath/grief. However the ease of crafting this will pretty much make all uniques even crappier by comparison. I hope they do a balance pass on unique items as well to make sure they’re worth using.

I agree, but I think it was very necessary in order to make barbs viable during a reset. Casters had it way easier, they didn’t have to depend on the unique items dropping.

Hopefully they do a balance pass for the uniques though as well.

From what I saw War Cry is the best barb skill for leveling past normal and this build uses caster weapons like Spirit as well but sure it may help somehow.

Act 5 merc weapon, this is fine, nice use of low and mid runes. I like it. Might even see some use on a few melee specs, Fury wolf ect. No complaints, this is the type of content I was hoping for in 2.4.
No new uber gear, just lots of mid tier RW’s for players to try.
