"New" 2.4 Runeword: Pattern

NEW RUNEWORD REVEAL - PATTERN! Diablo 2 Resurrected D2R Patch 2.4 - YouTube

“New” because it was present in the game files already, just never enabled until 2.4 (although the stats are slightly different). :stuck_out_tongue:

I find the FBR quite interesting, it does increase Claw Block speed and before this the only other item you could use to increase your block speed was Guardian Angel. Looks to be a pretty useful early game claw runeword.

I’m mostly interested in the All resists on it. By the end of normal I can get a claw that gives some resists so I don’t need to use rhyme/ancients pledge to survive NM.

That runeword sucks.
Completely useless unless the 30% faster block speed is buggy and works with things it shouldn’t.

Seems okay for a beginner sin runeword. I’m more interested in seeing the 2.4 PTR notes to figure out if these runewords will be worth using.

Another ignorant moron who doesnt get that this ISNT AN END GAME RW…

No

You can shop claws half the level of that runeword that have triple or more the damage.

That runeword is very seriously useless.

No you cannot shop a claw that gives you all the stats put together, the all res is a nice boost for NM and plenty of damage depending on the base used.

Damage isn’t the point on that runeword. The resists and elemental damage makes it interesting. At late normal to early NM I will get far more damage building a fists of fire sin than a physical damage sin and then re-spec into something different when I get higher up. It’s just like leveling a trapper you go wake of fire then switch to lit sentry at higher levels.

This claw allows the duel claw set up with some resists. This is more of an off hand claw than a primary. It gives some resists early on which is needed for duel claw setups.

Might be usable in hardcore day 1-2 if melee sin isn’t awful

I didn’t say you could shop a claw that gives you all the stats put together, I said you can shop a claw at half the lvl req of that runeword that has triple or more the damage. It’s quite easily done through gambling by tagging a 2os or even 1os ED% mod with +max mod, add in a couple good low req damage jewels or Pgems or even Iths = way stronger than Pattern. At low levels Sins are working with Tiger Strike that effects only physical. If you want better DPS you just want bolstered physical.

It’s like you didn’t notice that the elemental damage on that runeword is coming from the natural mods on the runes used to make it. You could do that with literally any 3os claw. Thing is, there are way better options of how to optimize a lv 18-lv 30 claw damage output.

Stop commenting on everything I post. You lack game knowledge.

that dude has no clue how d-talon assassin work in the video XD complete thrash runeword for d-talon…Crushflange the best d-talon weapon

now for early game(newb player that would be “decent”…but for a veteran that is thrash runeword(cant compete with a rare claw with jewels)

best claw for lvl 15 is…“drum roll”(Dragon Claw build)
Rare Ethereal Blade Talon with the following mods and jewels
Prefixes
1-Mechanic’s(add 2 sockets)
2-Massive(65% Enhanced dmg)
3-Warrior’s(40% Enhanced dmg + 60 Attack Rating)
Suffixes
1-10% ias(20% is at lvl 17)
2-Amplify dmg(5% proc Amp)
3-Restoration(Auto-Repair)

Rare Jewels X2
20% Enhanced dmg
8 min dmg
9 max dmg

end result for lvl 15 Claw
145% Enhanced dmg
+16 Min dmg(is added after ED calculation to base claw dmg)
+18 max dmg(is added after ED calculation to base claw dmg)
60 Attack Rating
5% chance to proc amplify dmg
10% IAS
dmg range 53-69

Pattern dmg on a Blade Talon Claw(lvl 23 req)
18-25(with a perf ed roll)

side by side comparaison
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-Rare Blade Talon-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-Pattern RW

irrelevant ele dmg----0----------------------------------------18-112
+str/dex------------------0------------------------------------------6 each
Block Chance----------0%-------------------------------------30%(irrelevant by using Rhyme OR Dual Clawing)
All Resists---------------0%--------------------------------------15%(not really relevant at low lvl)
only resist that need cover is Lightning and rings//Amy does just that if not using Angelic on normal difficulty

lvl 15 rare claw can vastly outperform a lvl 23 runeword XD
if at least it had half the power of what can be achieve with a rare claw that be more eye attracting even if remained weaker :S

EDIT: btw why i’am i writing off increased block rate as irrelevant on the claw if using a shield already with IBR ? the Dex req dont change much beyond 30%…and 20% from rhyme already cover the biggest reduction

Grim Shield with 0% IBC…112 dex needed for max block at lvl 29
Grim Shield with 20% IBC…82 dex needed for max block at lvl 29(-30 req for 20%)
Grim Shield with 50% IBC…61 dex needed for max block(-21 req for an additionnal 30%)

A level 15 claw that is rarer than Ber rune?

XD technicly ya its rarer than Ber :stuck_out_tongue: but what i was trying to implies is that they could at least make it half of what is possible with super rare items :stuck_out_tongue:

That isn’t really the point of these new rune words. These rune words are meant to fill a gap in early progression. They are not meant to be low level dueler’s wet dream.

thats why i said half that power so its not on the level of a low level dueler…but like giving it enough power so that it has some noticable performance…and its also not likely getting made b4 lvl 40 in itself unless a highter lvl char provide it

edit: if they rly wanted newbies to have just a slight chance at making runewords not handed by a high lvl
dont demand any rune highter than a Tal
so…El…Eld…Nef…Tir…Eth…Ith…Tal

I could see this rune word being made by around level 25 through legit gameplay. 2 of the runes are awarded in Act 5. In a non-hardcore playthrough, I am usually around level 25 when I get to Act 5.

problem is that runes above Tal aren’t exactly common in normal difficulty :S
earliest farm spot for Thul to Dol is NM countess

Ort has a small chance to be found in A4//A5…pre-act 4 its almost non-existant
by small chance i mean finding 1 by mob drop b4 finishing A5(not counting the quest)

He’s right to some degree. Why? Unless you want a melee sin, why would anyone want to level up as a melee sin when traps are 10x faster.

With that logic, why play anything other than a Sorceress who gets access to an AOE spell at level 2 and can play into Hell with subpar gear?

It is basic logic to level up a sin fast. Unless you’re trying to play single player melee or something? Why bother? It could be good in LLD.
