Those friends are both
- Online when I’m online
and - Willing to drop what they’re doing and synchronize their farming with mine so we can create a new game every 5 minutes

Common sense is lost around here, be warned.
Besides what if I want to play alone? Even MMO are solo-friendly, why would I want to play with this toxic community? I have real life friends that I do activities with, D2R is not for that.
The simple fact is this player scalability system is broken and so /player x command is needed online.
Also D2 alone has anti-social system:
- No ploot, fight for loot.
- EXP distribution is bad, fight for exp.
- No shrine for everyone, fight for shrine.
- etc.
So it’s not smart to suggest to play with other people, especially when what you will be doing is “split farm” which isn’t even playing together. Purists need to smarten up a little honestly.
Just today I saw HC group fighting on Twitch because one of them keeps hoarding EXP shrines, and also forced someone to give him the Sorc Torch they found. Two of the listed problems: Fight for shrine, and no ploot. See?
