Hey everyone,
I’m trying to figure out the cheapest and most optimal way to reroll a orb with (ideally) the following stats:
- 3 lightning skills
- 3 chain lightning
- 20 fcr
- 2 sockets
Three questions:
- Which orb from the list below should I be rerolling that best narrows down the stats I’m looking for?
- Which gems should I be rerolling with that’ll give me a chance to spawn those stats? From what I’ve read, pgems aren’t necessary and I even think I can get those rolls with chipped gems?
- There’s no way a +2 all sorceress skills can spawn along with those other stats, right? If a +2 all sorc skills rolls, what would it be replacing?

Swirling Crystal qlvl = 50
Heavenly Stone qlvl = 59
Eldritch Orb qlvl = 67
Demon Heart qlvl = 75
Vortex Orb qlvl = 84
Dimensional Shard qlvl = 85

Diablo 2 magic prefixes
Diablo 2 magic suffixes
The above lists will show the prefix and suffix, then list the items they can spawn on followed by the minimum item level.
Example: Powered (+3 sorceress lightning skills) Amulets(60), Circlets(60), Orbs(60), Staves(60)
Items listed as yellow, the prefix/suffix can roll on both rare and magic items.
Items listed as blue, the prefix/suffix can only roll on magic items.
Magic items can only have one prefix and/or one suffix. Staff mods don’t count.
Rare items can have up to 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes, however many of them can’t roll as powerful as they can on magic items.
Item levels are determined by the monsters that drop them, which are tied to the area level they’re in.
Rerolling a rare item with 6x perfect skulls can degrade the item level. (character level matters)
Rerolling a magic item with 3x perfect gems will not lower the item level.
The 3x chipped gem + magic weapon = socketed magic weapon recipe will not preserve any of the properties of the item, the resulting max item level = 25.
The 3x flawless gem + magic weapon = socketed magic weapon recipe will not preserve any of the properties of the item, the resulting max item level = 30.

+3 to a skill prefix is ilvl 60…you cant filter any suffix out just because of that…so use the sexier looking orb ;)(as long you find it from hell difficulty)…for Nightmare ilvl 60 items drop from Arreat Plateau onward…nyway…ease up your mind by find 1 from hell difficulty 
personnaly i think Swirling Crystal model(same as Dimensionnal Shard model) is the best looking one…maybe you also want the favored name too ? XD
edit: only way to filter some affix out is pre-tomb on normal(but you cant spawn +3 lightning if get anything from normal so…)…afterward all pools are open for rolls…out of the formula jedi gave you…use the 3 P-Gems one if you want to have the +3 lightning skill prefix to spawn
edit 2: jewel wise…try to get 2 rare jewel with the following mods
+10 All Resists…30 lightning resist
+10 All Resists…30 cold resists
other 2 affix dont matter as much but thats as much resists you be able to fetch from some jewels…while facets are nice if its not a cold sorc build i would not bother loosing out ton of resists by choosing to not use hoto :S

I actually have a pretty good idea of the build I want already and would be able to achieve max res via charms.
That orb you made though is ridiculously sexy.
crescent moon will give you a little less dmg vs non light immunes and a lot more dmg against light immunes. faster cast rate can be found on other items easily to make up the loss on the weapon.
getting to roll those affixes and 2 sockets is almost impossible. the chances are somewhere in the 0.00001 or so
