Need Difficulty Scaling

With decent gear / build, the game becomes a snoozefest.

Would like to see a difficulty slider or a way to have players 6 - 8 difficulty in solo games

This is already doable just play single player and use players8.

Not a serious answer

Switch out some of that OP gear for some junk gear… Boom, instant difficulty boost.

If the game is so boring, why don’t you stop playing it?

Blizzard has already said no to /players x on Battle.net, so stop spamming the forums by repeatedly asking for it.

Yeah that’s about the quality of answer you can expect from this forum which is primarily inhabited by trolls who multi/bot/RMT.

“Play alone in single player where you’ll never be able to use your character with others”

or

“Just quit”

Fantastic guys, enjoy your bots and RMT. They wont be satisfied until every public game is an advert for their sell sites.

Epic trolling as usual

Solo’d the game on Players 8 (no changing difficulties) up to and including Baal on Hell difficulty, but it left me wanting more - I’m trying more difficult mods on the original D2 LoD now, and slowly going through it again.

If you’re looking for a challenge, I suggest looking around those as well.

You recognize that for a few years now, the tactic of accusing folks of X is typically a means to hide the accuser from the fact of actually participating/performing X… right… ?
I mean, what botter would not love players/8 games, solo, with their OP build/gear to support their RMT hobby/income?

Playing the better (OP) builds with the better (OP) gear, with a OP (Act2) Merc is a choice.
You can make the choice to play less powerfull builds, with solo self found gear too.
Choices.

Actual everyday humans, playing the game for leisure/passtime who get bored with their OP build that took a year or so to make, go play a more challenging class/build.

Play a Pure Summon Druid (no points in Elemental or Shape Shift) and run an Act1 Merc, or no Merc… I mean, admittedly, he is viable, but, it’s a dance.

Play these less know/used builds without Skills/Aura’s from other classes… dump your CTA… dump your Act2 Merc… dump your Enigma…

Choices.

@Turlok
So in your opinion, anyone who doesn’t want /players X on battle.net must be botting/engaging in MTX/spamming advertisements.
You’re crazy. I think your foil hat needs a few more layers added to it.

It’s quite obvious you don’t know what trolling is. Just because you don’t agree with someone’s reply, doesn’t mean they are trolling.

As has been said, a difficulty slider would reduce incentives to play with others, so isn’t a good thing to add to the online part of the game.
If they were to add a solo self found ladder, it would make sense to add the option exclusively to that ladder, but nowhere else.
That being said, the question is : why do you play online? If the goal is to play with others, then the thing to ask for is more tools to do so, not less incentives. If the goal is to trade, then you shouldn’t be surprised the game is way too easy.

They had the chance to bring difficulty for endgame and they chose to introduce easy mode terror zones and introduce sunder charms.

They even got the feedback that tz are too easy for hdin and instead of adding challenges they removed them with sunder charms

For player scaling-> hard pass. We don’t need more reasons to play alone. But my compromise is that you get p8 monsters but no change in no drop and no additional xp. You know because you just want more challenge

P8 difficulty without extra drops would be just fine. Would love to see it implemented

No. Difficulty slider is the first step of power creep. See how it ruined D3.

Its my favorite aspect of D3, love how no matter how good my gear gets i can still get my butt thwacked if i dont play well. Difficulty scaling is awesome.

Imagine if resident evil or borderlands or dead space only had ‘easy’ difficulty as an option how much they would suck

To be fair, the first major step of powercreep came with 1.10 runewords back in late 2003. The usage of them was laregly gated by the stupid low rune drop rates, which patch 1.13C in March of 2010 opened the flood gates on the high rune drops. Of course botters and dupers did their thing to keep the community supplied… For a price.

Which is why I suggested taking some of that OP gear off. But alas, those who don’t understand the pitfalls of power creep don’t find this as an acceptable answer. They’d rather the power creep keep ratcheting upwards, because they like bigger numbers.

Well yeah, not many people like purposely gimping themselves for artificial difficulty.

Thats like telling a swimmer, who wins every race and wants stiffer competition, to get drunk and fat before each swim meet to make it harder.

Like no, im not getting drunk and fat to make it ‘harder’, im at peak performance, how about putting me up against better swimmers?

You act like purposely gimping yourself is a viable solution; its not.

Neither is introducing more powercreep in the game. And I’m sure you and the others who complain about the game being “too easy” would throw a conniption fit if they were to nerf the OP 1.10 runewords.

Nerf the runewords. Implement P8 without increased loot drops, im all for that.

Try playing a class that isn’t overpowered, or play OP classes differently, that’s another path you can take to challenge yourself. Avoid the known cookie cutter loadouts.

I have 3 of each class, all at lvl 92-95, all with different builds.
