Necro Summoner Build Question

(Edited to include +skills and forget to include Clay Golem)
So here’s the current skill breakdown for my lvl 89 Necro Summoner:

Skill - base skill points - total skills points (w/ +skills)
Skeleton Mastery - 20 - 27
Raise Skeleton - 20 - 27
Clay Golem - 20 - 27
Golem Mastery - 1 - 8
Skeletal Mage - 1 - 8
Blood Golem - 1 - 8
Iron Golem - 1 - 8
Summon Resist - 1 - 8
Revive - 1 - 8

Teeth - 1 - 8
Corpse Explosion - 20 - 28

Amplify Damage - 1 - 7
Weaken - 1 - 7
Terror - 1 - 7
Decrepify - 1 - 7

Currently, I have about 9 skill points that are not used as I can’t decide where to put them. I’d like some advice. I can easily solo Hell at /players 4 and probably even higher accept the killing gets too slow after that.

Here are the skills I was considering:

Golem Mastery - but my clay golem really doesn’t die often at all, and even when it does, it’s easy to resummon.

Revive - but with +skills I’m already at 8 revives which is plenty I feel.

Summon Resist - I’m leaning towards this one the most as I think it’ll help keep my skeletons alive a bit longer maybe, but it’s not like they are dying that much either really.

Are any of those a good idea, or is there another skill I should consider? I know some people like Lower Resist, but that would still be a one point wonder if I chose to use it. However, I don’t think it’s quite necessary. Suggestions please!

You forgot to tell us about something, you should have 28 skill pts left if that’s your build.

You should be easily up to +8 skills at this point, thus all those things like revives, Summon Resists, etc should be more than covered by your + to skills. I do not recommend putting pts here as you don’t get the returns that really matter from the extra pts.

I would recommend either dropping the pts into Bone Spear or Skelly mages, here’s the rational. Both options gives you extra damage, the damage will be lower either way but it’s some extra damage to add to your total output.

Bone spear will be low as far as damage goes but it is controlled by you and it gives you something to do.

Skelly mages will be slightly more damage than the pts into bone spear but they are not ‘reliable’ and you can not direct them as easily.

Every other option can be accomplished with a good amount of + to skills. Stronger Golem, better curses, more revives, Summon Resists etc all get to a nice high level with gear and + to skills. These two options give you extra damage and for a summoner it’s a cumulative damage that matters not individual damage.

I like mages. A little extra damage plus better survivability with the bigger army. 2.4 damage buff is also something to consider but I don’t know how significant it will be.

Sorry, I wrote OP using the base skills. I have updated it with total skill points including +skills.

By lvl 88 you can max 4 skills, have 1 pt in all curses, 1 pt in all summons, 1 pt in teeth and CE (usually maxed). After 88 you can then dump extra pts into other things, I usually do golem mastery for the extras as I don’t need them anywhere else.

Thus you can fully max out mages or spear if you optimize your build.

I’m not a big fan of mages. I find already with skeletons and a few revives up it already gets pretty crowded and sometimes my merc can’t even get by the summons to be able to fight. I don’t like the idea of adding even more summons (although I do sometimes summon some mages if I’m in a wide open area).

Dim Vision would be good for hardcore, but I probably don’t need it for softcore.

I think I like the idea of Bone Spear though for a little extra damage and for giving me something to do (outside of Curse and CE).
