Long time lurker here.
With a lot of english speaking content creators going over their wishlists for a new season and patch - I’ve been reminded of my loooong list of changes I’ve compiled over the course of a year or so. These changes would require some serious boffins to implement some of the mechanics changes to change up the meta of the game and provide some needed balance to mele classes. I have included items, runeword and skill tweaks and I do not claim any of this would fix any perceived problems, more that they are ideas I’ve had to see how I would fix them.
Full disclosure - I am not a developer, I do not work in game design, I have played this addictive game on and off since I was a child and I do not claim to have the solutions to all the small issues in this game.

--------------------GENERAL CHANGES--------------------
A new row will appear above any shown spells used on the UI to indicate buffs. This row will contain any temporary buffs or debuffs you currently have applied to your character with a icon swipe indicating remaining time. All permanent buffs will be continue to be shown in the extended stats on the character stats frame and not on this bar.
Item level can now be shown on items via ingame menu option.
Chance to cast on kill or on hit effects now can occur on successful strikes during channeled spells (i.e. Whirlwind)
Poison Javelin and Plague Javelin now properly indicate the correct attack rating and hit chance on the character sheet.
Increase all base damage of all weapon item bases by 33% for one-hand weapons and 50% for two-handed weapons
Open Wounds now scales additionally with weapon max damage by applying 30% of the max damage of the weapon used, as an additional tick, on every 100th frame (twice per proc)
Open Wounds now has independent damage sources (i.e. two or more sources of open wounds will not overwrite eachother, but will continue to do their damage for their full duration)
Prevent Monster Heal and Open Wounds will no longer interfere with eachothers effects and can be applied together on the same target.
All monster health increased by 4/8/16/25/35/45/55% of extra base health for games with 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 players.
All monster experience increased by 3/6/12/18/24/30/36% for games with 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 players.
All monster resistances increased by 1 per level from level 60 and above.
All monster damage reduction increased by 0.5 per level from level 60 and above.
Player and Monster Attack hit chance now can go to 100%. Successful hits from attacks with 100% chance to hit now apply Open Wounds. Skills with always hit do not apply this effect.
Increased rune drop chances across all diffculties and monsters by 5%.
Defense is no longer penalised by running.
Block is no longer penalised by running.
While using a two-handed mele weapons, skills will now cause 50% of their max physical and elemental damage to cleave to all nearby enemies within 3yds on successful attacks. Barbarians wielding two-handed weapons in one-handed slots will apply 25% cleave damage. Cleave damage does not proc chance to hit mechanics, status effects, crushing blow, deadly strike or open wounds. The cleave damage is considered "always hit" and thus does not benefit from the open wound changes above.

Note: To improve on the synergy concept, I've added resistance reductions to specific skills. This requires at least 1 skillpoint in the skill to benefit and does not work on non-class skills.
Additionally, all reductions of enemy resistance are added as a passive to the player. Clear exception here to Teeth for Necromancers as its a function of that skills gameplay.

Valkyrie summons will always spawn wearing a random unique chest armor and spear depending on level of the skill. All the stats of those items will be added to the Valkyrie's damage and defenses. Level 1-7 normal unique, level 8-14 exceptional unique, 15-19 elite unique. Level 20 and above will spawn with Tyraels Might and Steel Pillar.
Fend applies Prevent Monster Heal and has Ignore Target Defense.
Exploding Arrow now has a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Fire Arrow now has a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Cold Arrow now has a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Ice Arrow now has a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Lightning Bolt now has a -1% Enemy Lightning Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Poison Javelin now has a -1% Enemy Poison Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Removed Lightning Strike Synergy for Lightning Fury
===Assassin===
Claw Mastery now has a 5% per invested skill point to not consume Martial Arts charges when using a kick or normal attack. (100% Max)
Blade Shield will no longer reduce the durability of weapon used.
Wake of Fire now has -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Wake of Inferno now slows targets by 3% per invested skill point. (60% max)
Charged Bolt Sentry now has -1% Enemy Lightning Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Fists of Fire now has -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Claws of Thunder now has -1% Enemy Lightning Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Blades of Ice now has -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Mind Blast now has a 2 second cast delay
The wind up on Blade Fury now is 50% faster
===Barbarian===
Spear Mastery now has a 8% armor synergy with Iron Skin per invested skill point. (160% Max)
Polearm Mastery now has a 8% armor synergy with Iron Skin per invested skill point. (160% Max)
Bash additive damage increased by 3 per level (totalling 4 per level)
Leap Attack damage per level increased by 14%
Stun duration halved at all ranks. Stun now applies Slows Target by 50% when the stun duration expires.
Berserk now applies your current skill rank of Taunt to enemies who have hit you with damage when this skill is active on the Barbarian. If no points are allocated to Taunt, a level 1 taunt is applied.
Increase the radius of Battle Cry to 5yards and now reduces enemy block chance by 2% per skill level.
While channeled, Whirlwind reduces the chance of all chance to cast (on hit/attack/kill) procs from all equipped items by 50% of their original effectiveness for One-handed weapons.

===Druid===
The physical damage component of Molten Boulder, Volcano, Armageddon, Twister and Tornado damage is now affected by off weapon enhanced damage at 33% effectiveness.
Maul now has a 2% per invested skill point Crushing Blow applied to successful hits. (40% max)
Fury now has a 2% per invested skill point Deadly Strike applied to successful hits. (40% max)
Fire Claws now has a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% max)
Armageddon now has a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% max)
Rabies now has a -1% Enemy Poison Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Arctic Blast now has a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Feral Rage now can be used in Bear Form. Renamed skill to Shapeshifters Rage.
Removed Hunger attack rating increase. Hunger now always hits and increases drain effectiveness by 5% per successful strike for 20 seconds (15% max). An icon will now appear above the target to indicate this effect.
Each companion active now increases all active sage auras by 5% per companion. (40% max)
All sage companions are immune to physical damage.
All vine companions are immune to magic damage.
===Necromancer===
Poison Explosion can now be cast onto friendly Bone Wall or Bone Prison. This will consume the wall or prison object.
Poison Explosion radius increased 100%
Poison Dagger now has a -1% Enemy Poison Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Attract now works on all mob classifications with Uniques, Super Uniques and Bosses incurring at 50% incomming damage reduction penalty to all sources of damage incurred from this debuff.
Skeleton Magi now cast Attract Curse on the mob that killed them. The level of Attract Curse is equal to the level of Skeleton Mage.
Skeleton Magi Missile Damage increased by 200% at all ranks.
Teeth projectiles now explode in a 1 yard radius when striking enemies. These explosions cause -1% Enemy Magic Resistance to all affected targets per invested skill point of Teeth. (-20% Max)
Bone Spear now has a 2.5% stacking Magic Skill Damage increase for successive Bone Spears on the same target per invested skill point. Stacks reset after 3 seconds and is limited by the invested skill point of bone spear (max 100%). An icon will now appear on the mana bar of the Necromancer to indicate this effect.
Bone Spirit now consumes all friendly Bone Wall or Bone Prison for 2% increased damage per invested skill point. (40% Max)
Iron Maiden now has a 3x multiplier if the affected unit attacks the Necromancer who cast it.
Summon Resist now increases Damage Reduction by 0.5% per invested skill point. (10% Max)
===Paladin===
Remove Concentration Aura from increasing the damage of Blessed Hammers
Blessed Hammers now has its damage split between physical and magical damage types.
The physical component of Blessed Hammers is now affected by off weapon enhanced damage at 33% effectiveness.
Concentration Aura now also increases the Paladin and his allies Faster Cast Rate by 1% per invested skill point. (20% Max)
Conversion now applies a random Offensive aura (at the skill level of Conversion) to the target on successful converts.
Blessed Aim now provides 1% Pierce to all allies per invested skill point. (20% Max)
Defiance now provides 1% Damage Reduction to all allies per invested skill point. (20% Max)
For every 20 seconds Meditiation Aura is active, a Holy Bolt will be cast at all allies affected by this aura. The level of the Holy Bolt is the same as the Meditation aura. This effect is disabled in town and will not proc if the aura is changed.
===Sorceress===
Cold Mastery reworked to provide Cold Damage % increase. Each level will increase the percentage by 7% per level starting at 10% at level 1 of the skill.
Frozen orb now recieves a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Blizzard now recieves a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Glacial spike now recieves a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Frost Nova now recieves a -1% Enemy Cold Resistance synergy per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Blaze now recieves a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Fireball now recieves a -1% Enemy Fire Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Firewall now casts your current level of Blaze on all allies who pass through the wall.
Teleport now incurs a stacking 20% mana cost increase for 3 seconds on cast. Stacks fall off after 3 seconds from casting Teleport
Telekinesis now reduces Teleport mana increase by 1% per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
Lightning now recieves a -1 Enemy Lightning Resistance per invested skill point. (-20% Max)
