Obviously not for Amazons, but for the rest, it might be pretty neat if you could choose between male/female for the rest of the classes. I personally don’t mind playing whatever, but I know some people prefer being able to choose. QoL improvement, won’t change the core of the game, but it’s one of the first things people see.

They went as true to the old game as possible, purists would riot if that happened. D4 def will have both genders though.
Why do people who disagree with different things here and there, have to be labeled as a “Purist”…

because more options or qol would improve the game, people who state the game must remain the same as it was and never change ever are purists. Its not a bad term overall its just ppl that want the game to not change. I also want some things to remain the same personally so even I am part purists but dont mind some changes.

It was advertised that way, so can you really blame them?
But at the same time, your voice is just as legit.
I just think grouping everyone up is a little too simplistic, given how long these conversations have been going on.

Ya def true, I didnt expect female necro for example when they clearly stated just as you remembered. And didnt mind all druids must be male with orange hair lol and the same voice. Must be a set gender classes was something I’m fine with as well, does that make me a purist? Maybe but some things could be changed like the outdated lobby for example lol.

And I just thought about the lobby a bit.
I like the OG aesthetic, but would like to see it be a little more in depth.
Especially for times like this (server issues).
That way we could avoid, or create games in a more efficient manner.
I don’t think a couple of extra tabs or clicks would hinder the look, or OG functionality.
Just a bit more insight is all.

They probably don’t want to make any new art for the classic graphic style, and are likely to use that as an excuse not to do it in the future. Imo if they add gender options it should work like this:
- Classic graphics stick to the 1 gender per class rule.
- Everyone gets an option they can toggle to disable alternate genders when using D2R graphics (to make purists happy)
- Make gender selection a setting that is easy to switch back and forth (my other suggestions would result in some people seeing your character differently anyway, so why not?)
I think it’s better they don’t do it TBH. The character’s are like specific people who fought against Diablo and prevailed. It’s best to see it in that perspective.
There’s also the female Barbarian and male Amazon…nahhh.
I think a lot of people forget about the lore, or it is just an afterthought having been played for so many years.
The storyline and tunes etc, all make it a great game.
Since they have it in Diablo 3, It makes me wonder if Diablo 4 will be gender locked.
-Better lobby by far, everyone thinks its trash
-being able to play offline while waiting for que, many other games have that and give a reason for offline char to exist then just a screen with a number
-game search and filter in lobby, a shorter cooldown if you try to join a full game, if you say filter baal you see all games with baal in the name
-stackable rune/gems in a slot to prevent running outta space in storage many of us are running outta spacing holding 80 gems or runes and only that lol
-and so much more
mostly the lobby being a mess atm.
In this day and age? I doubt it.
Have to think of the market landscape when they get closer to releasing it.
I wouldn’t see why not, unless it conflicts with the lore they write up for it.
