TBH, i would have a main account for characters i actually play and the second one dedicated for mules/hold open a private game so i can mule on the fly.
Bnet allows multiple instances to be open. You can play two versions of any game if you have two bnet accounts with the game on both.
I dual boxed wow classic with my friends account when he missed raid once. I see no reason this wouldn’t work on diablo 2. But I don’t really see much value in it.
I guess you could design third party software to control octobox 8 sorcs and get 8x the loot for the same amount of time. Picking stuff up would be annoying though.
Who cares though? I can get fully geared out in probably a month of play and trading.
IMO one client per machine virtual or real, and a maximum of 8 clients per public IP. If you want to spend $320 for 8 separate accounts to run 8 clients on 8 different machines and can control them all WITHOUT AUTOMATION, that’s fine with me. All I can say about that is thank you for doing your part supporting this game and driving the innovation of the computer industry.
Thing is, you can’t limit it to 1 client per machine. Literally the bnet launcher has an option to open multiple launchers and login to multiple accounts.
Blizzard isn’t going to take that ability away from the launcher. Nor do they want to limit the amount of copies of the game you can buy.
I used a second account on d2 for summoning the cow level, you can then leave the game and not worry about killing the cow king on your main and still be able to summon it again. I would probably prefer no dual client or botting possible in d2r, would make ladder alot more fun but if blizz is okay with dual client I might do it. The stash is apparently 3 shared tabs with 100 slots and 1 tab per character so muling won’t be a reason for 2nd client. The other thing you can do is get extra socket quests or lvl alts fast if you have a main with tp. Who knows if Blizz will allow it but there are other reasons to do it.
Without stackable gems or runes for people who are hoarders like me and keep everything, muling across multiple accounts is going to happen… at least with D2 classic I didn’t have to buy a new copy to make a mule account
I would imagine so yes. I used to do the same thing on D2 LOD. I’d run a virtual PC with another licensed copy to self-rush and for a BO barb. I never had any issue whatsoever.
Vvin, that’s why I used a BO Bard. I could use BO sticks sold at vendors and easily make a 40 something BO Barb. If one had full inventory of WC Barb charms, I think BO could get to something like 52-54. It’s been a while, but a maxed-out BO Barb was around that figure. Barbs were limited to 1 CTA, so it only made a +1 difference in BO over vendor sold +3 WC sticks.
edit// And don’t forget those +5 BO Barb colored helms. on top
if i can run two legit by blizz design, i will probably buy a second copy for sure. if anything to store trade items like gems and runes which are used heavily for end game crafts. it would be nice to have my main account nice and clean!
