Probably MA skill tree wont be fixed and your fix is BiS Mosaic claw, its better than nothing, but still BAD cuz every MA Assa has to use Mosaics.
Fast and ez fix is to make finnishing moves consume only last charge and move chances to not consume mechanic to every claw with rdm chances eg. between ~25-45% -to not make it supidly OP like it is now.
MA Assa is super fun build, dont decrease it to just dumb Mosaic only or nothing. Chaos MA with FO procs as another MA builds are interesting and worth this change.

But lowering chance is not that great as it will cause inconsistency, sometimes you would be able to discharge with 3 hits sometimes with 15. My opinion is to minimize the “luck” factor and eliminate this attribute completely.
I currently play MA assasin for the first time in my life and i do not use mosaic. Beside attack rating issues I do not see much issues. She is completely fine without mosaic.
What martial arts was missing was consistency. Adding an extra layer of randomness doesn’t improve the mechanic, it makes it worse.
The issue with Mosaic is that you get to abuse everything : you can keep all charges from every single charge up skill, and you can apply those on every hit of your finishing move. If you remove those two mechanics (you keep one charge per mosaic, and only on your first finishing move hit), Mosaic is still very good but not broken.
The actual issue is : Martial Arts is a build for a niche audience, not for everyone, and people want it to be a build for everyone.
For improvements, make the charge up part more reliable by getting the charge on monster block.
For extra fun, add implicits to claws that say “100% chance to get a [Skill A] charge on [Skill B] hit”, so that you get to use multiple kinds of charges at the same time, or look into other ways to let players get bonuses from different kinds of charges without needing to manually charge them.
the buff to MA tree doesn’t mean buff the dmg straight up. could buff the skills other ways. but i do find claw dmg is just pretty low in general. could use a little buff no ?
I’ve always enjoyed the MA Assa the most with Tiger Strike and Dragon Tail Finisher.
Basically, the Assa is a very cool class. But it has its weaknesses in all skill trees and needs to be corrected, reworked and adapted in every skill tree.
But that doesn’t just affect the Assa, although it is noticeable.
Sorcs with all the synergies + skill mastery now need too many points to achieve reasonable builds.
Why have the bolts been limited to 24 for Charged Bolt? It used to be so cool to let 40-50 bolts wash over your enemies like a wave of water… now it’s a shame…
Glacial Spike feels like it has 100 synergies, but it’s still crap… Double the radius, let enemies smash through and the thing works…
Firewall has such stupid synergies, just like Blaze, you can’t build a meaningful build with it together with the Mastery even in your own tree… Idiotic…
Why is the skill Thunderstorm so left out? Give it together with the 50 Bolts Charged Bolt variant, synergies, completely without lightning. Thunderstorm gets synergy from Charged Bolt to damage, Thunderstorm gives Charged Bolt one more Bolt per point. Thunderstorm also receives damage bonus from Static Field and Static Field gives damage bonus to Charged Bolt.
Lightning Mastery not only increases the damage of thunderstorms, but also gives an additional lightning bolt for thunderstorms every 10 points (passive, i.e. also with further +skills over 20 points through items). At skill level 40, this means 5 lightning bolts at the same time every few seconds. And the skill together with Charged Bolt and Static and Lightning Mastery is already much cooler and a playable build with Lightning Sunder Charm and -Lighning resistance of the enemies…
I don’t like Nova Sorc and I don’t like the chain lightning either… Because the Assa has that too and the Amazon has that… Then why not another lightning sorc?
There are still a few things that could be adapted for the classes…
I remember playing an “MSLEB” sorc with fireball secondary. As you say, that was oodles of fun.
The 24 bolts cap is a LoD thing, it happened more than 10 years ago … it’s not a d2r thingie …
If you deal with an MA Assa for a while, you realize very quickly that the MA Assa, no matter what finisher or charge you may play, has now basically put all other types of rune words or unique claws, or even other weapon items, behind the rune word mosaic.
The advantage of the multiple finishers with the charges is simply much better than anything else.
The question is whether this should now be broken down to claws, or whether these mechanics should not be built into the MA skills in order to keep other weapons usable, for example if you want to play a kick assa, which is even represented in the majority of finishers.
After all, you don’t necessarily need a claw weapon here. Claws are only necessary for elemental charges other than phoenix.
A dragon tail kick assa can also be played with tiger strike, because the damage is then maximized and no elemental charges are needed there.
So all shoes would also have to be equipped with the mechanic as the basis for the kick damage, or you could just build it into the MA skills of the Assa.
At the moment, it’s not quite clean. Mosaic or 4th league is an easy decision.
