Hi all-
I have been encountering a very troublesome recurring bug. My character movement/clicking stop working randomly. I can still open up my inventory, pop TP’s etc., but I cannot pick up items or move my character. I still see my cursor on the screen and it responds to mouse movement, but I am unable to pick up items or move my character…
The only solution I have found so far is to just save & exit and then join a new game. I have tried minimizing, unplugging the mouse and plugging back in.
It happens at somewhat unpredictable times (although usually at times when I am clicking a lot), and has happened multiple times in an hour and then I have gone hours without it occurring…
Is anyone else encountering this? Any suggested solutions?

Do you have an alternate mouse you can try?
Yes. I actually did plug in my old G5 and the issue persisted. My primary mouse is relatively new (MX518) and it definitely seems to be an issue on the game-side, since the mouse still works perfectly fine outside of the game and I have never encountered this issue on the various other games I play.
It’s especially strange because the cursor still works in-game when this happens, it just seems to ignore the inputs of left/right mouseclick rendering me unable to move, pick up items or cast abilities.

okay beauty, just wanted to make sure. somebody has to ask the ‘did you try plugging it in’ question eh? lol
I’ve not encountered this myself. but it sounds like something is pulling mouse focus away from the game. when this happens, are you running any other applications that could pull focus like that? messaging apps and update windows can do this kinda thing sometimes.

Thanks! I typically have some google chrome tabs open in the background for quick googling of stuff but that’s really it… not much else.
I am not seeing any other posts about this issue so for now it seems that it may be something unique to my machine… Idk!

I have exactly the same issue: mouse clicks stop registering during gameplay. The cursor still moves normally, if I hover over items they still highlight normally and menus work too. This has happened twice to me now.

Yup. The issue still persists for me. It doesn’t happen super often, but it continues to happen. Happened to me again last night after only about 15 minutes of gameplay. It is really strange since all other mouse inputs seem to work except I just can’t move or pick items up. I can hover over them, move stuff in my inventory etc…
I’m having the same issue, Mouse is working except I cannot click left/right button. I can drop the potion but I cannot move the character by left clicking.
I have the same issue with my Amazon as well, as it is happening on 11 Dec HK time.
I have the same problem. 
HyperX pulsfire surge mouse…but tried with another Genius mouse, there is the same problem. Everything is working on the desktop, I can navigate in the game, but the buttons not working. Only standing one place, and can not move or take anything.
Same issue with my bowazon, and only with my bowazon. It hasn’t been an issue before today, but I wanted to do some hell trav runs, and out of the 3 runs I did, she froze in place all three times. Never had any issues like this before, ever, not even in legacy.
Should be noted today was the first day I tried to farm hell trav on my bowazon. I’ve never seen this happen before today.
Same issue for my javazon. Is happening about once a day.
Same thing here. Lightning javazon. I loose the ability to move my character. The mouse pointer is still live and i can move it anywhere. I can open the quit/options menu and click on those but i can not move the character on the screen. It just locks up. It does this on my gaming laptop and on my desktop. Come on Blizzard. Get it together.
I have a Razer Naga Pro, and all the sudden in game the number buttons on the mouse stopped working in game. They work in all other functions and programs though.
I have same issue when character doesn’t walk/run by left mouse click (Walk/run by left mouse click stops working occasionally). The mouse cursor is active and responsible, i.e. I can click buttons and if I had skill selected left mouse click at any monster or empty ground will result to the skill cast, if I had normal attack instead - character will attack in the cursor direction, but will not move anymore.
I also found that if you press Esc and open Options menu and then immediately go back to the game left mouse click again starts working fine for movement character for a while.
This happens to me in average every 5-7 minutes, both in combat and in town. I already died several times being unable to retreat from the random monster pack.
Any solution yet?
Guys, I probably found a solution to this.
After some research I found left mouse click stops working immediately after pressing Shift key for “stand still” command and looks like character is locked in it.
So I tried re-assigning “stand still” to Shift once more and unexpectedly it helped!
I checked it’s working - played around 30 minutes without any issues and when I restored my previous custom settings back Shift key broke again until it’s reassignment.
Not sure why this issue were introduced, might be it is related to the new “force move” command added in one of the patches but that is just an assumption.
