I wanted to compile a list of what I have seem so far as the most requested changes/updates/improvements for the upcoming D2R game. Some or all of these changes are things that should be incorporated after the game is released as we understand that VV is in crunch mode right now to release the game on time.
• Personal Loot
• Bigger or separate stash space for charms.
• Rune/Gems stacking
• Re-enterable Nihlathak portal.
• Loot filters to reduce screen junk clutter. iLvl displayed.
• Remove gold amounts displayed for those playing with auto gold pickup as it takes up
almost 50% of the screen real estate and may hide valuable items in smaller rooms.
• Upping the monster levels for each act in hell mode for more varied farming routes.
• Skill balance updates
• New Content–[New items, Rune words, +3 to act 4 quests, new maps]
• Add force move option.
Is there anything else I am missing? Is this list prioritized correctly? You let me know😊
I never left; you do know that D2R is not officially out right? You do know that VV has asked us for feedback, right? You do understand that just like you I also paid for this game and have the right to voice my opinion in a friendly and professional manner right? You do? Good, then we are both in agreement.
many mods does that.
it’s nice to see what monsters can drop said item (by learning what is the monster ilvl is ) without actually needing to check everytime on a website.
and also for charm rerolling to get potentially nice skillers
After playing ARPGs with skill bars accessible by number buttons (where pressing the number = instantly cast the spell wherever your mouse is aiming), using Diablo 2’s system has been a little painful over the course of the test. At least for a casting and summoning Druid where I’m constantly switching spells.
Hotkeying and rolling the mouse wheel is the most comfortable thing, but I hate reaching for F-keys and then still having to right click, or rolling the mouse to get to a skill and 1 in 20 times my selection gets rubberbanded back to something else (maybe just a beta issue).
I know it’s how I played the game back in the day for years and years, but it hasn’t aged well.
Problem is, since the potion belt uses 4 of the number keys up, I don’t know how this could be done to “fit” into the game seamlessly.
Hell no - changes the core game
Hell no - changes the design of the game and removes the choice part
Yes with context - the cow king is a hidden quest and once flagged as killed quest is complete. I never understood why nilathaks portal was closed once he’s dead when there is a waypoint to get back so that should stay opened
No - we don’t need a loot filter
No - this is not D3 monsters don’t scale and some builds are based on the current hp and dmg of monsters changing levels changes all that
Not needed - skills are fine not every skill is supposed to be hell viable plus this game is easy as is and can’t be beaten with pretty much any skill if the right gear is used
Definitely not - this is a remaster not a remake you don’t need to add content the game is fine as is any new content will need to be in line with the current story and it won’t be any new content should be in D4
i dont give a damn that you pay for the game, they did ask for feedback but they also state how close the game would be to the original elarning from previous mistake
and what you are tlaking about is neither in the most requested for the god damn loads of old d2 player around nor is it in the range of the things they talk about
you pay for d2 ignoring how the game was and are aksing for it to change when it’s not suposed to on thos aspect; just leave
well kinda hard when ppl are pretty much asking for d3 way of doing things so often ^^ even more when it was clearly state that no it wouldn’t go that way
making i lvl visible and stuff like that are indeed in the range of things that could occur, but any change to the core game just is not and some people better get that through their head
I don’t mind it either way, if they can find a good middle ground I’m okay with it
For sure, current status of charms ruin the flow of the game and finding a good solution won’t hurt any balance like some people like to point out and this topic is a bit overreacted here in the forums
Sure would save a lot unnecessary hassle
I tested it, no strong feelings about it, it’s nice but I’m good either way as well
Now I will treat all 3 of your points at the end as the same thing, because that’s just how I see it, as something that they might visit some day and maybe decided to add new life into the game then sure, it will probably involve some type of balancing and the like
what we could do is remove Cooldowns from certain skills that don’t really need or had them a few patches ago like hydra, frozen orb and the like and use old patches as templets and reverse some Cooldown skill changes to the way they were, most of those Cooldown changes came by Hardware limitation people had at the time and not for balance reason most of the time, so there is no reason that in our day and age we will still need those Cooldowns
And yes there is something you are missing rune stacking is a popular request as well
