Do you run around naked until you get your BiS items? Cause I’m pretty sure you are using one of those trashy items no one ever uses until then. ![]()
I multiple times mentioned that i talk about unique, set items and runewords.
Like I said, trashy items.
And to use veil of steel as example, no i never used it for anything. Pretty much nobody does. To asnwer your question
magic helms are better.
Unique item should be good, not uniquly bad.
Slap it on a merc with a reapers toll works fine for chaos. It’s fine how it is. It’s not even a half bad helm to put with reapers if you wanna deal with lower resist/conviction and don’t have a kira’s for that situation.
It’s not even a half bad Shifter helm if you are going for a higher str setup for more damage on a budget as they struggle with resists and don’t massively benefit from the +skills on the druid helms. If you were 20 all res short, you could easily use it over a Jalals.
Hell man currently doing a HC throw barb… my current merc has an Undead Crown and a Griswolds with Ral/Ort/Thul in it. Trashy items that fill a slot. No reason to buff’em they are doing their job.
i didn’t say mosaic would be junk, i said the build would be junk. and i don’t agree that the build should be junk.
no, anything less than 100% is junk and the power of the skills is overtuned for 100%
I see an AND in there. So I’m assuming the 100% is referring to the 100% chance on 2x mosaic right? As in anything less than 100% means mosaic is junk.
Well I say let it be junk, then fix the MA tree… but first revert it to before the 2.4 changes… then reworking the charge mechanic.
Make the charge skill into regular skills that discharge each time they get the next charge level then reset, and make the AR on it decent.
Let “finishers” go back to being what they were before… different flavors of smite for Assassins.
The item just doesn’t fit D2 at all.
I Disagree, The Only Change is the the Addition of the Item(RW), All the MA skills had already been in the game and remain the same.
As I Explained Above, Hammerdin Has Higher Minimum Damage and you can Easily Hit 15-16k Min Damage with Virtually almost NO Magic immune Monsters in the game compared to Light/Fire/Cold MA Sin ALWAYS is Dealing with Fire/Light/Cold Resistance Immunes which Chops the Damage of MA Sin. So you guys are Arguing the Build is OP… BUT Just Last Night I watched a hammerdin run in On Diablo and Start Beating TF outa Him before I could even get stacks to kill him. by time I got my stacks too Do damage the hammerdin had him below half health already. Nore are you guys factoring in That Stacks Drop Before Diablo and before Baal & Sometimes at wave 3 because of Hydra.
I’d just like ppl to stop complaining about MA Sin and,
Stop Saying MA sin is OP when Pally Can Max Block and Max Res while Doing 15-18k Damage on Command & MA Sin has to Build stacks or Does Zero damage. MA Sin is a FANTASTIC Build for Speed running. and it’s VERY pricey build, When the Most expensive thing for Pally is the Torch and Pcombs…
All they really need to do is make it so Mosaic only allows you to spam ONE charge ability at a time. Then buff the damage on MA in general.
This Concept isn’t possible, the MA Sin Depends on All Charges working in unison together. Otherwise you run into Fire/Light/Cold Immune and it’s Gameover which kind of Defeats the point of MA Sin Being S Tier and an End game Build.
Between the resistance Issues the Low Block Chance the Top Tier Gear MA is a Build that Reflects a P8 Clearer with the Right gear which is GREAT.
Until only recently I had a Crap Computer Playing the Game in Legacy Mode because my PC was that Bad, but because D4 is coming out I upgraded and that’ll be the position many ppl are forced into regardless of MA Sin. So Lets not blame Skill SFX and Say MA needs to be nerfed.
This is BY FAR one of the MOST FUN BUILDS I’VE PLAYED and I been Playing since Classic.
Hammerdin isn’t even in the running here lol.
Also immunities SHOULD be a thing… let’s also remove those crappy sunder charms.
Frankly if you’re going to D4… then why bother?
You’ll be gone in no time playing the next thing, and we’ll have to deal with this crappy item.
Of course you’d like Mosaic. The game you are looking for isn’t D2.
I see D4 and “I need to upgrade my PC for this” isn’t something I’d ever think. It would be more like “wtf is this steaming pile of donkey farts.”
If you ask me D4 takes everything that made D3 bad… and doubles down on it.
The absolute worst thing you can do to a game… is make it “balanced.” There is a reason I can’t stand most modern games. MA sin was fine being a meme, or an optional uber killer.
Last thing we need is 19 more ez mode builds… Literally all Blizzard has done for the past 15 years… is make their games easier and easier.
Hammerdin need nerf also of course but cant match speed of mosaic sin. If he did full game content faster, you probably dont play her well. You talk about one zone also. Diablo is very easy to hammerdin because of layout of map and mobs.
Go check Niarchist on twitch. Hammerdin can dream about the speed of mosaic sin in like 90% of the game. 2 first people on ladder played her for a reason… Because nothing else can match it.
Xtimus even easily cleared chaos with mosauc sin on p8 80x density lol
I have seen well build mosaic sins in action and i played hammerdin with top equip for ages. He is not even close dude.
Wow - i got mentioned by the omnipotent Zax. I will mark that day down for my kid and grandkids to cherish ![]()
Jesting aside I played Hammerdin in S3 HCL and Mosaic Assassin in S4 HCL - both times being beat and just ranking #2 overall.
My two cents on this discussion are: the sunder charms levelled the staging area significantly. While Hammerdin still is probably the cheapest character to build for the seasonal race (as you only need Enigma and are basically good to go), the Terrorzones provide a significant disadvantage for the build as a) you have to wind up your hammers for single mobs (so placement is becoming a significant issue) and b) Hammerdin hardly profits from sundercharms (as breaking magic immunity is nice, but sunder charms really start to shine with the synergy of Infinity, that only affects elemental damage).
With Mosaic I completely destroyed the previous world record held by Theo effortless (I am a working dad with a very unsuccessful twitch account well into my forties - so no time to practice). The Mosaic build already melts immunities without sunder charms, together with Infinity and Sunder Charms the game degrades to easy mode on P8. Still, this build is pricy and hardly affordable for any player. The only downside is the necessity to build up stacks prior to being able to engage - especially in your 80s and early 90s quite the challenge.
Maybe a way to nerf Mosaic while still keeping it viable is to only keep one of all charges (so either randomized or the one that you choose to have up). This reduces the OMFG factor and better evens out the odds.
In the end I have the feeling that the core of Diablo 2 was that the game poses a challenge for every character. Terror Zones were a good change as more content became viable.
On the other hand Sunder Charms are more beneficial to elemental casters than the rest of the builds, Mosaic is completely imbalanced.
Having laid down my thoughts, I think Infinity wielding Nova Sorc and Javazone will be close contenders to Rank #1, in case Mosaic is getting nerfed, with Nova Sorc benefitting from only having to acquire Infinity rather that also having to finance Enigma early in the race.
Cheers
