MrLlamma released a video about this runeword, and he brought up some graet points. Im not his biggest fan, but you should check his video out.
The design direction of both Mosaic and Metamorphasis is a D3 style of itemization. They’re both bad. If Martial Arts and Shapeshifting builds need help, then help those skills. Don’t lock those builds into specific weapons with unique itemization.
If this keeps up, D2r will be the worst way to experience D2.
Um, no. It doesn’t take a streamer to tell that these runewords suck.
Hahaha Yes, I agree with that statement. He does, however, have a lot of pull and influence. He is planning on making a poll to present to the D2r team. We all know how much they respect polls lol.
He also references this Warren post I believe. Was there for the stream so I haven’t watched the YT:

MA needs help and I sincerely hope they didn’t think this RW was the solution to that. Although I don’t understand their stand to not add any of the 2.6 gameplay to the PTR. Isn’t it for bug fixing and to see how quickly us nerds can break something? We broke metamorphosis in about 2 minutes… sooooo
Also @tohki can you get off this “D3 melodrama” please. I haven’t seen you add anything constructive to any of the forum posts.
I rather Blizzard take their time and fix the skill tree mechanics than add Band-Aids to symptoms of a bigger problem. Blizzard really does not want to make big changes to the game, but I encourage them to do so. We can always tone things down if it’s too much. But these soft brush patch notes are not exciting to read.
At this point I am not entirely sure if they are capable. Maybe it’s time to open this game up to multiplayer modding. The BT mod and PD2 have shown what people are capable of and mods are what kept me playing starcraft and warcraft for years past it’s prime.
I think this is a very good point.
The underlying skill mechanic is less than ideal with the pace of play of D2, particularly in a party/group setting.
With credit to gbasso (who KidSquidley linked a few posts up), I expanded on gbasso’s idea for addressing the charge-up mechanic and revising Mosaic to align with those changes:
Well anyone with half a brain can see the red flags here:
25% chance of anything in this game = trash AF… the only exception is crushing blow.
Also, Martial Arts? ROFL… red flag #1
Gotta waste a Gul and a Mal on this… red flag #2 and #3.
Looking at the rest of the stats… whole lotta meh and bleh…
and there it is… this is a garbage rune word.
Hahaha, i enjoyed reading your post, thank you
