More Changes! UPDATE IT ALL!

Not enough changes. Game feels dated.

Delay it an overhaul everything. This is unacceptable. The no change crowd has no imagination, they clutch to the old ways out of ignorance. I highly recommend they are ignored.

This is not a remaster, it’s simply a cash grab.

it need more polished at all. better controller support for meele chars. better ai for minions and mercs (they are stupid again)

The UI feels clunky. I hate the camera shift when you open inventory / character menu, etc. I especially hate that it also shifts your cursor location over when you open the menus as well.

The controller support feels like the type of controller support that an indie game would ship with too - particularly the cursor style menu navigation.

I agree they probably just need to delay and work out some of the fine details.

In general, the game looks great and has a lot of potential. They’ve done a fantastic job making the game look the way your imagination thought it looked in the original. But having said that, it doesn’t seem like it can ship with the (traditional) Blizzard standard of quality in a month when it comes to many other aspects (UI, controller support and other quality of life changes to make the game feel more fluid).

I have to confess, when Blizzard announced they were remastering D2 I was so damn hyped. I immediately preordered. I have not played D2 in more than 10 years. I use to be a moderator on the Eastern Sun forum. In fact, I came up with a pretty elaborate annual tournament with a ranking system and everything. Lots of fun for everyone and great, great memories.

I got out of D2 of course like most when D3 went live. And then there was Grim Dawn. POE, Van Helsing, Wolcen. Last Epoch, but the vast majority of my time has been D3 and the many seasons I have enjoyed in my little clan.

I twisted the arms of a couple of my clanmates to give D2 a try when the beta was released on Friday. One lasted 30 minutes and I think the other lasted 10. How did I fare? An hour. Lol. Yeah, guys. The rose-colored glasses have been removed. I loved the game and I do not regret purchasing the remaster, and am not seeking a refund. That’s stupid. It cost Blizzard money to make this and I am happy to support that. But, I doubt I am going to continue.

Bring on D4.

A couple other very minor quality of life changes:
(1) Click and drag inventory. The “sticky” item rearranging from original D2 is the only option right now. I’ve gotten in the habit from more modern games of clicking an item, holding it down and releasing on where I want to move it (whether it be to a different inventory spot, equipping, etc.). This is very minor but just have it be dynamic to feel more modern - if you single left click an item have it interact as it currently does, if you click and drag then have the item drop into whatever slot you release your left mouse button at.
(2) Allow changing binds for selling / equipping items. Another very minor thing but would rather be able to just right click to buy/sell rather than holding down alt. Not aware of a way to change this currently.
(3) Force move key bindings. This is just another modern quality of life option that people have gotten used to. A lot of people like to bind this to mouse wheels, etc.

funny thing is , most if not all remaster/remake are Cash grab / easy money maker

Booooooo get off the stage

Imagine how much work went into making the assets, integrating new render pipeline for the underlying engine, replacing network code for new battle net, etc. Sometimes making all of that is harder than making a game from scratch.

I already got more time out of this game throughout the beta, than I get from other AAA games similarly priced. It’s a win for me.

Want a different game? Go and play a different game. D2R is (thank god) basically a D2 with a face uplift, that’s what current player base asked for. I bet you go to a clothing store and feel indignant, that they don’t sell food. Let’s call the manager, I guess it’s time for changes.

I had a different experience. For me, it felt like playing the greatest game of all time, all over again.

This is the Dark Souls of point and click action rpg’s, a punishing, tedious hard grind of a game.

Cringe. Vomit. (etc) This is a remaster, not a remake. If you don’t like the game, don’t play it. Simple. Nobody will miss you.

How do you play D3 when it looks like a mobile game based off world of warcraft with a storyline made for kids? I only played the beta for 15 minutes because my rose colored glasses are also off and because It’s pointless to play a 3 day beta. When this game comes out I’ll be going straight to hardcore mode, which should be a great experience.

Learn the difference between a remaster and remake and stop embarrassing yourself.

Love how all of these people who have never posted on the forums before are just cropping up out of nowhere and complaining infinitely more than the people who’ve been posting on the D2R forums since the game went up for preorder, lol.
