I really like this rune word. I think the devs have a good understanding of what is needed to have successful weapon stats.
I do however feel like the team is taking a conservative approach to not “shock” the audience with overpowered rune words. I want to express that I personally want rune words to come out broken and op so that we can test things out and then have them rebalanced as needed during the PTR testing phase.
With regards to Mist, when theory crafting, I would like to suggest booting Concentration to at least level 17. I believe that pride can roll Concentration to level 20.
Since bows are like staves, bowazons cannot have an offhand stat stick. Javalins can spawn with up to +6 to a skill tree. I think that Mist should also have an additional + 3 to Bow and Crossbows skills. Yes, I am aware that grand matron bows can spawn with +3 to B&C skills, but bowazons really need a boost in power to compete with some of the most powerful skills in the game. I tested a modded version of this weapon in a single player game and it’s fun to play, but it’s nowhere near as powerful/versatile as some of the S tier skills in D2R with lesser equipment needed.
Lastly, moving forward, I think all new uniques/rune words should have a + to X/Y based on character level stat. This mod is really fun and ads incentive to level up as high as you can. It can be gold find, magic find, + to life etc.
They were announced exclusively to certain d2r content creators who posted them on youtube. We don’t yet know these rune words will Synergize with Méridien balance changes.
it looks to me more like a steppin stone to faith and after harmony. lvl 9 concentration vs lvl 12-15 fanatism. 3 to all skills vs 1-2 to all skills. same ed on both. freezing target vs reanimate (basically tanking capacity/safety). 40 all res vs 15 all res. cham + gul vs jah + ohm (cham has always been less expensive than jah in trading, gul is cheaper than ohm and achievable through hell forge). missing AR and ias vs ignores monster defense + 300% ar + Fana AR & ias
We don’t yet know how the new Merc changes will synergize with new items/rune words.
I heard many people make this statement, but my argument to that is, Mist requires Cham and even though you can trade for a Cham for cheaper than Ber it’s still a harder to find rune. Not to mention Cham can be included is new unheard of yet to be announced rune words. Having said that, the cost of making this rune word does not make it a steppingstone in my mind when it requires the 2nd from last highest rune in the game.
Fanaticism gives you + to attack speed.
For now, they can give it more uses with unreleased rune words.
Not sure about the total damage when you include AR and ATK Speed.
After checking it out all by myself. It has intriguing qualities. For one it has good physical damage but in comparison to faith will it stand out? Maybe. Although attack speed will be slower it could work in a hybrid build or a cross between cold/fire zon with its possibility of +6 skills.
missing ar and ias was referring to mist, not faith. faith has ignores targets defense and +300% ar, + the fana boost. pretty sure i mentioned a few words later
I wouldn’t use this for a fire+cold hybrid. Maybe a fire+phys hybrid though since this has decent phys damage with the ED and conc aura and you could get +6 skills for your immolation arrow. We’ll have to see how the buffs to skills are though in 2.4.
I would prefer plus 9 to bow and crossbows Skill tree as I would prefer to put hard points into the synergies to maximize damage output. Mist: 3 to all skills and 3 to bow and crossbows skills + bow passive. Remember bowazons dont have offhand stat stick like all other classes.
What do u mean +9? Mist gives +3 and then +3 on the base. I still think an Ice bow outshines this for a cold Zon build. Ice has +3 from the base, then up to 30% increased cold damage, and -20 ish to enemy cold resistance.
Could be okay as a cold+fire build, but I don’t see it being that great unless they buff the fire and cold now skills substantially.
