Missing String At Game Start

I have not purchased RotW at this time. When I opened my offline game, I see “Missing String” message at the top-left of the screen and all of my characters are now “X”, (Expansion, I believe). When I check my stash, three of the five tabs are missing. I see where they are now located and accessible from the button at the bottom of the “Shared” tab. What does this “Missing String” message signify?

You need to convert them to ROW character, but before doing so, make sure you transfer all the items to personal stash and characters invetory. Make a few characters to do that, and after transfering items to personal stash and character inventory, save and exit and convert that character to ROW. “Missing string” and “Warlock skills not showing up” are bugs in the current expansion.

Are you saying I have to buy RotW in order to have the “Missing String” go away?

No I was saying I had the same thing, but what fixed it just now, is (Solution) Start a “New Character” in Offline and then going back to online character and everything will be working fine, skills and stash no more “Missing String” or “Invisible Skills”.

None of my characters are “Online” characters. I see that message in “Offline” play.

It looks like you may have been running some mods. I would check to see if in the _profilehd.json if there is an object like:

Go ahead and add support for the Warlock between the Assassin and the SubMenu to fix the skill bar.

i had missing strings until i grabbed the new data from the data archive (with cascviewer). item-names.txt and item-nameaffixes.txt had to be updated.

my assumption is that you’re using mods. you either have to update the files yourself, or wait for the mod maker to update their mod.

Nope. I am not using mods.

@stuffedtiger - Your assumption is incorrect. I am not using mods. BTW, I have no idea how to do what you suggested with “cascviewer”. I have no idea what that is or how it is used.

My apologies to you. I forgot I did have the “AncientGrimoire” mod installed, but rarely used. I removed that parameter from the “Properties” of the launcher and the “Missing String” items were replaced with the proper values. Thank you for your assistance and input. Much appreciated.

Hey Blizzard, why am I not allowed to reply to more than one commenter in a thread? Two people offer suggestions and/or advice, but I can only reply to one of them until someone else replies in the thread. IMHO, that is ridiculous. This area is for discussions with a group of people. Limiting replies to one person, until someone else replies, is a strange concept.
