Hi there, the techsupport told me to try this discussion for help.
One of my charaters is missing from the game but I it is still in my folder on the hdd. However three files are 0kb were the files of the other caracters are 1kb. These files are .ctl/.d2s/.ma3 and were saved the day I played last. I think that might be the case why the caracter is not shown in offline mode. How did that happen and more importantly is there a way to fix that? I would appreciate any helpful thoughts especially since is a Lvl 85.
If the character files become corrupted or are deleted, your only option would be is if you had a backup of the files that you could restore. The most important file is the .d2s file, which contains all of the information about your character. The .ctl and .key files are for controller/keyboard configuration and aren’t critical. The .map/.ma# files are for keeping track of the revealed maps and aren’t critical.
Before you do anything, back up what you currently have, just in case.
If you are not able to restore your character, not all is lost, but it will require some work… You can try to piece the character back together from memory using a hero editor:

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately I have no backups and don´t have any idea how to restore that. I´ll try to use the hero editor and figure out how that works. Thank you for the tip :).

For the next time, consider playing online. Saves stores on BN servers are (hopefully!) safer than local ones.
