[Minor change] Allow all skills on both clicks

Inb4 an angry soul comes and whines about auras…Obviously, Do the logical restriction to avoid abuse on auras, lock it to allow only 1 aura from skillbar

Also, how often I heard, just switch your right and left click on your mouse … * facepalm *

For people who don’t know, right and left click don’t function the same way mechanically in D2

Left click is a pointer/selector. Hold it and you’ll just walk past monsters, unless you hold click on a monster then you will kill it and walk pass monsters

Right click has additional mechanics like auto-attack encounter, hold it and your character will attack every monster on its way, which is awesome for melee but pretty clunky considering that you use the right click for every other skills

Allowing all skills on both sides would allow melee builds like Tesladin to use a support skill, in this case aura, on left and benefit from auto-attack on the right click with their zeal or vengeance

It would allow singers to WC on left and teleport/Find item/bo/battle cry on right without changing skills

Plenty other builds would benefit from it, especially melee… and everybody knows single hit melee kinda sucks, would give it the perk of auto-targeting without the major penalty


Lot less stress on the hand aswell, clicking everything can actually be straining and RSI/Carpal Tunnel risk.

Please Vicarious Visions allow this small but huge QOL

Im not asking to change the game, this aspect has already been changed with Controller support, im just asking to extend this perk to Keyboard and mouse

I have a Tesladin, ill give you a link where you can see i dont use the dmg aura, only sinergies.
aniway, in D2 we only have a Main skill and secoundary or support, Paladin have the auras, i think no more characters use skill auras on right click. The point, i am satisfied with the actual D2 system.

No offense mate, but i dont care about your tesladin build to an extent, it was only an example, nor being lectured about stuff ive been knowing for years like if i was ignorant on the topic… again dont want to be rude, sorry if it comes out like this, just to be frank about this topic derailment

Being satisfied with a clunky system doesnt makes it less clunky, nor does it change the fact that you dont have to deal with that clunkiness on controllers

It would allow hammerdins to use teleport and concentration aura at the same time, without needing to swap back before casting a hammer. It would allow smiters to use teleport and fanaticism at the same time, without needing to swap back before using smite. It would allow fohers / mages / etc to keep conviction aura up and teleport around to apply it without ever letting it down. It would allow auradins to teleport around with conviction aura up. Etc, etc

you are right, let me borrow this and add it to the list of benefits

It could be nice for PvE… make some builds easier to play wihtout needing to do a bunch of skill binding and weapon switching for better stats.

the main issuse with this is if they do this “minor” change it would 100% change the PvP side of the game. Now yes they are already facing changes with no wsg but this would derail that train farther.

talking about controller, you can’t just changes skills on the fly like a pc. we have the huge advantage of lots of keybinds and being able to switch on the fly without having to worry as much as consoles.

Less stress is debatable. You could try different builds or maybe a less demanding class if thats a major issue. I have Carpal Tunnel and strained hands from them breaking when i was young. I never had issues with finding something that was comfortable to do.

You are aware that we have 2 skills slots… so if you use Teleport& Concentration… you have to swap one of them to be able to cast Hammers… wheres you Buff to paladin in there?

they already do exactly what you talk about but instead of teleporting with concentration they teleport with hammer

I don’t intend to be mean here, but it seems like you would do yourself a service by actually experiencing the game and learning how it works before 1) making suggestions how to change it and 2) prefacing your strongly held opinions with your total unimpeachable authority.

To your question of “secret” knowledge: You can already put blessed hammer on left click. You can’t put teleport or concentration aura on it. You are currently forced to choose between teleport and concentration aura being on right click at any given time. If you could choose between teleport and blessed hammer being on left click, you could teleport around with concentration aura already active, increasing the damage of hammers already out.

Cast animations give you a significant amount of time to change between skills without losing even a frame of efficiency, since it only matters which skill you’re casting on the frame you cast it. It doesn’t matter if you take 5-6 frames to switch to blessed hammer after casting teleport, because you have a full cast animation to switch. That’s not the case with auras, which are always active, and matter when your projectile connects, something you can’t control.

arent hammer damage already snapshot when casted? Easy fix if they arent

so you are against a whole QOL just because you cannot think further than your own rage? Thinking a little bit further to ask yourself “would this hurdle be easily fixable? ah yeah, snapshot the hammer damage on cast does fix it”

You clearly arent an engineer if this stops you lol, i imagine you builds a bridge " the 2 sides of the river arent the same level… WE CANNOT BUILD THE BRIDGE THEN!"

This is neither about beeing an engineer, nor about solving problems to make your idea work. Your idea is just bad and should never ever get implemented in vanilla D2.

You ever wasted a tiny second of thinking that dev’s back then had an reason to restrict certain skills to right click? Nah you just rush in demanding whatever comes to your mind without thinking about the relations of gameplay mechanics and giving rude comments to everyone who has an different opinion.
