Hello friends, how do I farm with a trap sin with mf without getting too weak and taking too long to kill things?
Strengthening the merc comes to mind first, but mine uses thorns and I can survive a lot using it with this skill so…

You can farm nightmare for gear that will help you with hell. NM cows can drop skill charms, and lots of mid range items.
I wouldn’t use a thorns merc, as it requires you to be hit to do any damage. Might is better for his damage, or holy freeze for safety. Insight will help him do some decent damage, and maybe hustle and bulwark for speed and survivability, until you get better gear.
If you’re playing online, you can trade for gear. Batches of perfect gems and low runes like ral/hel will get you gear to start farming hell.
